About the whole war in Iraq and giving "Freedom" to the Iraq people is ironic, seeing that during the 80's U.S. supported Saddam and had strong relations with his government to fight against Iran. Who created the "evil" Saddam? I would argue U.S. did. And now, it's even more of mess.
You don't spread billions of dollars without a return an investment. Is it in America best interest to have good relations with Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait? Of course it is. Oil is good for the American economy and seeing that US is one of highest energy consuming nations, it makes sense to secure the supply for the future. Did Bush make the right decision for the U.S.? Yup. Is it moral? Nope.
I guess you could blame Britain for created the borders in the first place instead of between ethnic lines.
I'm so bored with Andromeda. The writing is getting worse with every year and I'm so tired of the "political correct" captains like Andromeda and Star Trek.
Firefly's Captain is more rough, realistic, alive and honest.
Personally, I wish the show would continue... nothing else worth watching on a Friday Night.
I'm very tired of George W. and his determination to finish off what his father couldn't accomplish. Sure, Saddam should be shot, but let the people of Iraq do it, not a foreign government. If US decides to go to war and go after Saddam, who really suffers?
It will be the common person of Iraq!!! Not Saddam. Saddam will gain more power and it will create more anti-american opinions in that part of the world. And therefore, more funding for terrorism.
WTC should be awake up call!!!
US needs to take a step back from world politics and let the UN do what it is designed to do. There are many nations with thousands of years more history than the US and the US should listen to them before speaking.
Wordperfect was the better word processors many years ago (DOS and Win3.1) before Microsoft came with it's office suite. Then Microsoft cloned it to add to it's suite and with it's marketing dominance, it became the standard. Corel bought wordperfect (1997-98) to add to it's office suite (Quatra Pro and Paradox) and tried to compete by having a pretty good office suite at 1/3 of the cost. But unfortunately lost the marketing battle.
It's a tough to compete with the company that also writes the OS. Talking about a competitive advantage.
A little competition will improve both operating system. Lets hope micro$oft thinks again about there new license agreements and makes the OS more stable and secure. I just wish there were more operating systems out there to take away Microsoft's monopoly powers and have a healthy competition.
I'm sure Apples OS X should gain some more market share in the next few years.
Is BeOS still alive? Any positive futures for them?
"Yes, that's exactly why slashdot has absolutely no credibility whatsover. In their zeal to show the horrible, evil deeds of Microsoft, they have been wrong or only have half the story countless times. They show no remorse and continue their rabid anti-MS quest when they continue to use Windows."
a) We are allowed to speak our minds, point to different articles on the net and have a discussion about it.
b) Microsoft is a Monoply!!! I won't be happy until there's some more competition or Microsoft gets split up. Competition gives the consumers a better product at a cheaper price. Can you say that now with Microsoft??
c) Some of us use Linux 98% of the time at home and at work. And the only real reason, I'll boot into windows is for gaming.:p

Yes, I will.

ZDNet is a Pro-Microsoft News Site.
You have to place an advance order and wait a month and a bit till it comes out.
Amazon.com has a cheaper price ($31.49) and an early release date (Sept 20th) than Barnes&Noble.com ($35.99, release Sept 27th).
Looking forward on reading it :-)

Keeping the kernal stable is much more important than adding more features. That's why most of us have migrated to linux in the first place.
If I don't have to reboot in 6 months or beyond, then I'm happy with that.
