So what? Managed C++ Apps are still native programs, right? That means they can't "run anywhere" where a.NET runtime is available (which was the theory behind.NET).
What does this gain us? The answer is: Little, as there are already half a dozen Win32 ports of Quake. Now there's another one which is slower. Big deal.
It means "General Public License", not "GNU...". Why are people getting this wrong all the time? "GNU Public" - what's that? I know what the general public is, but who the hell is GNU public;-)
So what? Do we _really_ need animated menus?
I have nothing, nothing at all against your favourite bongo game implemented in Flash (some are actually quite fun), but I strongly dislike (ordered by increasing amount of aggressive potential):
Flash advertisement (banners). As if animated GIFs weren't annoying enough. Not to mention that a few of that stupid Flash banners chew up a respectable portion of CPU time.
Flash menus, that load for ages (not everybody has broadband... and even then it's a nuisance, because that stuff is so inconvenient to use. Ever heard of scalable font sizes? Simply clicking on a button without chasing it down because it had to be "animated" to look cool?
Probably. But still, I think "retransmission" of content requires the explicit agreement of the creator. Your attorney might be different, because he is not allowed to pass information on. IANAL...
... they can still sue him. Quote from the end of the email:

I strongly doubt that such considerations where made at nVidia. The Linux market is at this point very small. I think nVidia's Linux support is merely running at "low priority". In nice mode so to say... nevertheless, at least the company doesn't ignore us completely.
While I agree with most of your comment, I have to make a minor correction: Type1 fonts _ARE_ device independent. And "times" is actually standardized by Adobe, so any officially licensed PostScript interpreter _HAS_ to render "times" in the same way. (Not all PS interpreters are licensed from Adobe, though.)
Definitely. Why are these guys wearing sunglasses? To look cool probably. The protection effect against high-velocity CD fragments is negligible. Still, it might help against secondary hits, which bounce off walls. The primary shrapnel goes off radially, so you can control it pretty good.
Anyway, these people seem to have too much time on their hands:-)
Also, those cool hotspots (Hawaii, Iceland, Yellowstone, and more) are going to be the key to geting a nuclear bomb to the earth's core if it ever stops moving...

In other words...
Action Quake 2
... even on Geek sites you can't rely on people knowing the correct format for an URI! ;-)
suggestions yes no no no no conflicts yes yes no yes yes
Ahh, I understand...
Seriously, RPM or .tgz are the only format you need.
Any reasonable arguments for that claim?
The GPL public license? Another proof that recursive acronyms are stupid :-)

Well, you should of course leave at least one (1) CPU plugged in :-)
You have to realize: there is no text... It's not the text that disappears, it's your own brain. ;-)
Any example? I have still to find one.
Up to today, all usage of Flash which I could find justified was either a movie or a game. That limits Flash to a mere toy.
Thanks!
What the heck is a CPA anyway? Sorry, I am no native speaker...
It is more like a scare tactic.

That's NOT funny!

I'm confused... the nForce driver wasn't released under GPL license, or was it? I mean the one from nVidia...
Any chance you're running an nVidia card?

I can understand your feelings to some degree.
Is there any product (besides Draw) which they didn't manage to fuck up? Wordperfect, Ventura, Corel Linux, ...
Check facts? On /.?
BTW, shouldn't we make a link of that :o)
Yeah. PNG reading is sooooo straight-forward that you can implement it in about 2 hours. Dream on, little boy.
That post had to be expected.

What did you smoke?
