Besides the fact that Flash doesn't have a hard disk platter (his problem obviously isn't just to save data), Flash chips also contain internal logic to map out defective blocks, and in addition they remap in order to avoid writing single blocks too often in order to prevent them from failing early. So even if the HDD platter isn't really needed, he won't get exact control on Flash either.
If you had at least suggested a floppy. There you can indeed control exactly where your bits go, and it's even a magnetic medium.
I'm a little unclear on this concept. Why exactly would I want to have an ID chip implanted in my body for that I couldn't get from one that's in my pocket?
You seem to think you always can blame only a single person.
Let's make a more drastic analogy: Imagine your bank puts your money openly on the street (clearly marked as bank deposit), and it gets stolen. Of course, you blame the thief of stealing it. But don't you also blame the bank for not securing it?
You've just cut away the part about selection. It still is without a goal. There is no goal. Not even the goal to survive. You might think there is, but there isn't. It's just that those who didn't survive didn't survive, and therefore those who are good at surviving remain.
Evolution has no direction. It is just change to better suit an environment.
It's not even that. It is just change, without any goal. Sometimes the change increases the probability of surviving. Those changes have an increased probability of surviving (yes, that's a tautology), and therefore they tend to survive (yes, still tautological). Therefore over time, organisms tend to get better at surviving. That's all folks.
Those who survive the first bubble are those who are good in surviving bubbles. For those who are good in surviving bubbles, bubbles are an advantage because it eliminates the competition which is worse at surviving bubbles, but might be better otherwise. Therefore it is advantageous for those who survive bubbles to create more bubbles. SCNR
They actually are underground Marxists who try to make the situation so bad that the revolution starts. However, Marx was wrong: The people just don't revolt.
Security features are nice, but they aren't a selling point.
They may not be a selling point for you, but they are for some other people. You wouldn't want the content of your bank account transparently transferred to some criminal's bank account by some malicious JavaScript running due to an XSS attack on your bank's web site. Just to give an example what JavaScript can do.
With open source, you can still hire someone you trust to do the analysis and/or modification for you. Yes, this is assuming you have the money (and there is someone you trust), but it's still better than closed, where you have to rely solely on the original provider.
In Korea, only old people operate computers.
Now imagine a Beowulf cluster running on this distro. They could call it "red galaxy": Lots of red stars.
Well, they both fell for the propaganda that Free Software is communist.
There are articles at the time of submission. They disappear when the summary hits the front page.
Well, it's named hedge fund because a hedge is a good place to hide behind. :-)
Or maybe in some seldom-executed block, they have the following code:
He obviously speaks about the break booster.
If the engine is not working, the same force on the break pedal will result in much less force on the brakes.
And why are you replying to me instead of the OP?

That would bypass the file system, but not the drive's internal logic.

It makes it easier to pay at a nudist place. :-)
Why the whole credit card? The number would suffice.

I don't get viruses because I don't do stupid shit.
QFT
Sorry, but I just can't see what Quantum Field Theory has to do with this.
So if your car doesn't have a working lock, you don't blame the car manufacturer?
His parent just forgot to join him. Now we have to wait for his parent to die, so init can inherit and join him.

Huh? The number 100 has continued to rise? :P
Of course. As of now, it has reached the value of one hundred.

It seems no browser offers the functionality to wipe those out, and yet they can contain malicious code (there was a recent infection at the office).
