  1. Played with distros for years, and it's Knoppix on Introduction to Debian · · Score: 1

See that handle? I don't get called "clueless" on anything resembling a technical forum for no reason. I've been struggling with linux distro installations for years now, because I support the philosophy behind open source software. Nothing comes close to the ease with which I installed Knoppix. The end result is a sweet Debian system and I never have to look at another RPM file again. Knoppix is finally be the answer to getting linux on the desktop of the average clueless user like me.

  2. SCO has no assets to sue for on FSF Statement on SCO vs. IBM · · Score: 1

This is an all or nothing attempt on SCO's part. The people behind SCO will walk away from the wretched hulk of SCO the moment they lose, or they will get filthy rich. Those people running SCO can't be harmed because because they are flinging their charges from behind the shield of the SCO corporate legal entity. SCO could be held responsible, but the people can't.

Santa Clara vs. Southern Pacific (1886) established corporate personhood in the US. A corporation has the same legal rights as a person in the US. However, I do believe there were more than 5000 years of successful business trading in the world without corporations. People will by and sell goods no matter if the is an artificial legal construct that allows individual to act as irresponsible as they wish or not.

True, Enron did try to buy everyone, The GOP were the ones who closed the deal, not the Democratic Party. I don't remember Clinton having members of Enron on his cabinet like Bush did (White).I also don't remember Clinton spending an entire election cycle riding around on Enron corporate jets like Bush did in 2000. I also don't remember Clinton INVADING any countries in the Middle East like Bush just did for ENRON and the rest of the oil industry. No WoMD found, but they sure do have the oil pipeline running out of Iraq in working order now. Too bad the people in Iraq don't have water to drink yet, right?

Technically, RICO laws could be used against all users of Freenet and the users could all be hit with criminal conspiracy charges if the Justice Dep't. argued that the users that weren't downloading music were knowingly engaged in activity which would help cover-up the crimes of others. They could just point at Freenet and say the entire enterprise is is a criminal conspiracy.
