What OS? Sun Clock for Win32 includes a sky map. I won't vouch for it being great (I Am Not An Astronomer) but if you want something for free that you can set up in a few minutes, give it a shot.

Actually, any phone usage makes users stupid. People with cell phones just use them more often. It must have something to do with that 60-cycle hum you hear from every phone line on the planet.

Phones also make us poor. After I open dresser this morning I pick up phone bill , I read phone bill , and discovered it was $1138!

    See ya!

  6. Re:Video On Demand on How Could TV Survive Without Commercials? · · Score: 1

On ATT Broadband in Atlanta I now have a certain selection of movies that are on VOD. It is $2.99 for an older movie and $3.99 for a newer one I believe. The coolest thing is that you can fast forward, rewind, pause, and stop and save for viewing later.

And where I live, there are a bunch of "video rental" stores which have a certain selection of movies on VHS tapes (and probably DVD nowadays). It is 66 cents for an older movie and $2.30 for a newer one I believe*. The coolest thing is that you can fast forward, rewind, pause, and stop it, and rent it when think you might want to view it.

    * Roughly converting to USD, and I'm guessing a bit at the price since I haven't rented any tapes (or otherwise watched movies) for a few years now.

Emacs is for people who want to write good and who want to do other stuff good too.

    And do grammar good?

Everyone knows this; nobody cares: good is an adjective (which describes a noun, e.g. "good grammar"), not an adverb (which describes a verb). So it should be "write well" and "do other stuff well". Same story applies to bad (adjective) and poorly (adverb).

Please be kind moderators! The fact that I got into a vi/emacs holy war about which I don't really care should be sufficient reprimand for the off-topic post. (It's also flamebait since somebody will find some subtle spelling or grammatical error here...).
