    It's true.

He also stated, in Senate hearings, that US soldiers "raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages, shot cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks, and generally ravaged the countryside of South Vietnam."

Later he admitted he had not witnessed the atrocities he claimed.

I've never heard that allegation. Most information points to apple getting around $0.35 per song to cover bandwidth, expenses and a small profit.

Most of the other online stores sell for $0.99 a track ($0.88 for Walmart), so it's smarter to assume they pay less than that for licensing than to assume a slashdot AC has some kind of insight.

No, it means they carefully considered it. They have to consider all legitimate offers. Comcast made a legitimate offer, they considered it and rejected it.

I went to a few Dean meetups, not because I believe in that shit, but because a girl I knew invited me out, but didn't say where we were going. At least it wasn't an amway presentation. Anyhow, it turned out to be a good opportunity to meet easy chicks. Just start spouting out nonsense about Bush/Cheney, capitalism, etc, and invite a girl (or 2) back to your room to smoke weed. Before the night is over, you'll be clutching the back of her head while she gags trying to deep-throat your member.

Sun could have taken java before a standards board (like ISO, ANSI, ECMA). The community has asked them to do so. They were even going to do so, but doing so would mean giving up total control over the future of the language. Making it a standard would essentially "set it free".

Stock options as executive payment really took off in the mid 90s.

There are plenty of reasons, but one big one was that Bill Clinton changed tax law so that only 1 million of a CEO's (or other eexecutive) salary could be considered a business expense. A $12 million salary would now cost $3 million extra in taxes. However, a $1 million salary with $11 million of stock options wouldn't "cost" extra.

Should CEO's get exorbitant pay? You probably don't think so, but they do sign a paycheck for thousands of employees and contribute to our economy.

Meanwhile, it's not unusual for a hollywood movie star to make $20 million for 3 months of work, with only a temporary employment opportunities for the "little guys". Yet it's deductable as a business expense.

So what? the current version and all previous releases of Qt are GPL. You can still use them. You can still look at, modify, and redistribute the source if you want to.

But I bet you don't use Linux because Linus might die in a plane crash, and complain that the BSD license is less free than the GPL.
