Trust me, they're not smart enough to run some global spy network on all 280 million plus people in this country, cataloging their every word and move.

Despite the government lacking ambition and rescources currently, I still think it sets a bad precident to give them the right to do it. After the second we dearm ourselves against oppression, it's only a matter of time before someone executes the previously unthinkable.

Heh. A discussion 5 replies deep on the meaning of a "true" audiophile. It's always amazed me that so many people shell out piles and piles of cash for high end speakers, _and they listen to curdled genital cheese_. "yeah, I spent $10,000 on audio equipment. I'm an audiophile. Cat Stevens, Yani, and Grandmaster P never sounded so good." Give me a break. I'll take the $10 computer speakers with Radiohead over your setup any day.

is roughly three lines long. If I conclude my message with the source code and explain it's applicability to future generations, will the satellite then become a circumvention device?

The deficit of open source millionaires also discourages individuals from programming OSS. At the point programmers code for the love of software instead of greed, the software is naturally better.

It's similar to sex. Your wife (stereotypically radical case example I know) makes love to you for you. A prostitute sets sights on different goals. I'm sure you can see the desirablity of the former. Don't encourage the whorification of OSS programmers.

may the government tax it? Here I thought the spirit of religion was a humble love of mankind. I say grant the injunction but tax the bastard to hell and back.

Sure. Imagine that when you were an infant, your parents were killed in a flood, leaving you to starve to death shortly afterwards. Would you say you "chose to starve to death", or were you simply too inept to survive?

I would say that your society made choices, the abundance of which are inspired by personal greed or religious fanaticisms that led to your demise. While the child isn't personally culpable, a person in the immediate vincinity is. Again, the blood is on the hands of a man who either chose the death or is inept.

Only the "haves" have the luxury of joking about mass starvation.

    He's not joking.

Don't effuse that socialist indignation at inequality. "Lets steal from the rich to support the non-productive poor. While we're at it, let's pretend it's fair."

Men producing wealth is not repugnant. If they produce enough to live in "luxury," congradulate them. Those that are incapable of producing starve.

You receive what your efforts are worth. Some will _choose to starve_ for a myriad of radical reasons. Others will starve due to ineptitude. Show me the injustice.
