I have an idea. What about a box that tells the TV to record ONLY when there is a flag? Illegal as hell, maybe, but it would be a great way to NOT watch commercials.
it works well enough. It is not intended to stop kids from clicking. It is intended to alert parents( or software) that an adult site is coming up and not to let the kids see it.
If a parent cares what a kid sees on the net, then a parent can monitor what a kid sees on the net.
why not just go from 1 dollar to 5 dollars? Instead of passsing them off to people, launder them through change machines at laundrymats and other places. If you knew when these machines would be filled you could hit them right away. The bigger ones hold a 1000 bucks, it think. Or maybe 500 in change. LAundering money 500 at a time with no penalty could be lucrative. A good money printer could hit easily 15 machines in a day. That is 15 grand in one day. And prolly could go for a week or so with NO chance of detection.
I agree. It would be better to have real networks give permission to be cracked, provided no data was damaged, and study hwo the guy got in. This would also help those companies make their networks more secure.
for legal p2p to work out, prices have to come down. It is silly for me to pay 1.00 a song to DL an mp3. The whole idea behind a download model for distribution is to make the music cheper by reducing the cost of delivery to the consumer. Untill record companies see this, then no DL service will work.
well that is an interesting way to look at things. I mean if recording music is getting cheaper and cheaper all the time, and now music distribution can be basicly free with p2p, why have a "recording " industry at all?
The artists really do not need the " recording industry" all they need is a PR company to help promote them. the people who DL the songs will pay for tickets to see them live. One might even say that the songs release would just function as an "ad" for the artist's show.
with as little as an artist makes from CD sales, I do not think this model is sucha bad idea. It will nto however work for movies.
I just used my 1st ever mod points to md this post down. The original HHGG was a pretty ok movie. It could have been better, mostly by way of being longer AND having all the books included.
I also might mention that the script to the bbc version was written by( at least in part) Douglas Adams. I wish disney would use his script, kinda at least.
wind power has become cost effective. That is why the enviro nuts are starting to not like it. They only like impossible tech, not real tech that improves development.
and even better for somebody BUILDING a house. There are upfront costs of having your house hooked into the power grid. The costs are REALLY high when you have house that is not very close to any others, likein the country. It can easily run 5k to wire a house in rural texas. If solar can be had for that, then more rural homes would be built that way.
that argument makes since BUT who has VIOP in a home that is piped in without paying ta on the line? Maybe via sat links..but most pay for a DSL line and pay tax on that line or pay for a cable line and pay tax on that .
so i have to pay state tax on on my cable/dsl connection THEN pay again to use some of that same bandwidth as a phone line? That is making me pay twice for the same BW and connection.
under the prior law you where free to not listen. If you requested a company not call you and they did again, you could sue them. Just that people never did this. The reason is that as much as they SAY they hate TM calls and how much they affect their lives, they are really not that big a deal and not worth the time to take to recover minute( 50 or less) damages.
You had , however, no write to prevent people from contacting you who you never heard of before.
This law violates the first amendment by giving the goverment power to prevent types of speakers as a group from talking about certain things to another group of people.
how about
hello, do you own a vaccuum?
NO
Would you like to know how oto get one Really cheap??
How?
your would great! I will have one of our reps contact you. thnks bye!
The above under the current rules is a request for information. It would allow the company to call the person for 3 months.
which is EXACTLY what telemarketing companies wil do if a federal DNC list is passed. Although the more reputible companies will stay around, just charge people more for services they actually want( long distance, credit cards, etc)

in the US all music is considered to be RIAA dependant, even if the artist is not on a label or not a member.
isn't Sweden a coountry with an established(lutheran ) religion?

well complain all y ou want about deregulation BUT it has worked FINE here in Texas. The CA market was NOT fully deregulated.
yea but even if they are not members of the riaa they are assumed to be in the US.

Euro is stronger right now..but the week political unity of the EU could and likely will change that sooner than later.

the kick is how good a roof is it? I mean a roof( non power generating) that will last 20 years is gonna cost you a few grand to put on.

the states can not do a DNC list because they can not , by law, regulate interstate commerce. Most telemarketing is done state - state.
yoru still a pussy...j/k

You are right BUT I promise that free speech will be the LAST challenge to the law.
