I applaude the work of leaders, teams, and freelancers, who have given their free time(and a lot more) to a project that will mean so much to poor communites around the world. These poor communities now have access to technology that can uplift and enrich their lives without breaking their wallet.
perhaps.. technologies such as these will do much to ammend the huge discrepancy between rich and poor.

Should they pay the same? Apt B doesnt think so. anything to lower his bill.
what happens? massive bit transfer is for wealthy only.
Another way we leave the poor in the dust.
no we need free, we need 'in the wild' internet bandwidth that is rooted at the grass root level.
freedom of information for everyone.
Of course it is wrong to steel from a paying customer of a set of bandwidth. But this is just a security concern that eventually will be dealt with accordingly. What is more interesting is setting up a new mesh internet of wireless broadcasts acroos the continent that is essentially public and nearly every where. We need to put a stop to the growing practice of paying per byte we send/rcv.
rediculous. Access to educated people in some areas of the world is difficult. Perhaps, it is for that very reason, my friend. Education and ideas are severely limited in poor parts of the world. With such 'poor man' technology remote villages can develope learning programs through 'net resources freely available. the point is. The sooner poor continents like Africa get wired, the sooner they will take command of their lives from the last vestiges of colonialism. Education can save them from Aids, kick start the economy, and provide people a way they can network against warlords. Who knows? But it is a resource they must have.

As with many artforms, often the best games hide complex strategic and tactical play, within a well designed, yet simplistic set of premises..
Many of today's game designs seek to expand the number and complexity of a game's premises, ie. create bigger and longer games, but fail to make each part of the whole intersting. They abuse the gaming powers available to the modern gaming machine.
In the "OLD DAYS" lol, game programmers were working with very limited hardware; small memory, and blockish graphics. These boundaries forced them to be more creative with what they did have. Scarcity was a mother of inspiration
for gaming innovation.
Today an uninspired game writer can always turn to pretty graphics, right?? ha!
or throw in a sexy digital image. blah.
We mustn't look to the past for happiness. There are new things to fascinate and inspire if we but look and stay ready to accept it.
by the way there are things like emulators, man.

Admit it. These games inspired our young minds to become what they have. Their large pixelated mysteries drove our imaginations to the mysteries lurking beneath. What wasnt filled in by the game was created by our minds.
