a co worker is doing online casting now for a show. he asked me for ideas, and basically its ratings that make/ break the shows. the more in depth, the less listeners there will be. so its gotta be both dumbed down yet directed towards a mystery- find yourself show. hence, i will start w/a local linux users group to start the basics of powerful pc's. i bring my laptop to all lug meetings, and sometimes im the only one who actually is running linux. other times, im in a room w/unix guru's who help me out. but on quality shows, there are more every day. they pop up, and disapear sometimes overnight, right now, ive been watching youtube for some very refined help... plus, you tube is commercial free..i wouldn't have it any other way.

ask students what they want to learn/ and what they know. many classes begin with initial aptitudes and that may just save you weeks or months, rather than assuming everyones a noob, you may find yourself having a 90% ratio of pc literate to noobie.

thanks for the heads up. currently running 2008.1 on Toshibas satellite laptop with everything working (yes, 3d too, (compubiz))... i am very happy w/2008.1, and was looking forward to '09, but with your wireless issues and the ndis wrapper (currently using madwifi) i will remain content, and keep on chuggin. my only complaint in 08.1 is that when i tried to switch into "enlightenments" w.m. i kept getting a error that another window manager was already running...(even after going into runlevel3 sooo...unless we can run enlightenment upon install, i wont change (i dont have too much extra time for it these days)

forever. that is a deal breaker. if they need "you", than you should be able to re-arrange the terms. imaging earning more than enough money to support your own projects, only to be sued and destroyed by the very team(or project) you helped build... sounds to me, you are on the fence, and a very high one...choose carefully. best of times should be infront of you.

refocus development with connectivity

ability to setup wireless connections w/laptops (at install) i cannot even remember how many times ive used a resque (linux based) live cd to help re-claim friends files (before they re-installed windows). and only 1 time i was able to connect right away (to the internet). now, if i was always able to connect to the internet, easily and fast, i would have converted all of those friends to linux based os's. however, many times i could NOT ever connect to any network. that is the biggest drawback (even now)as soo many use the pc's just for email. so, in my order of importance, connectivity-#1 connecting even at the install, or on a live cd is so great (when it works) it should be fast, easy and powerful enough to just be able to open a browser and have it work.

your correct. its about the engineer (in linux) who names thier creatoins, vs. THE MARKETERS (in winx) who not only Advertise but Pay companies to put links in the web pages to veiw cetain "advertisements".. im0 its just a matter of intelligence...(are you a lemming or a wolf?)... i would (from a visual point of view) prefer that "xmms" was named "tuner" or even something remotely connected w/music, and you get the point, its just a ramble now..but the thread started out great, in the hopes of you (yes you) future creators of NAMES and associations w/everything should have SOME relevance... yes, newkies back...
