  1. diamonds... on Diamonds - Are They Really Worth the Cost? · · Score: 1

the only reason that they cost so much to buy is because the companies who produce them restrict the supply. there are hundreds of thousands of surplus diamonds sitting in some warehouse right now.

  2. The theft of Tetris on Seventeen Years of Tetris · · Score: 1

I was told years ago (pre 1991) by someone that Tetris was written by a Russian and then stolen by Nintendo because of the potential it had. Of course I could totally be wrong, but it would be neat if I wasn't. I think.

  3. Future jobs at stake. on Teaching BattleBots in High School · · Score: 1

Considering that the average boy junior high wants to make destructive metal machines that can potentially terrorize the girls in class, this is the perfect program. Being the principal of such a program could be stressful when an agry parent comes to you complaining that his daughter came home in tears because little Joey tried to use his 'spin of death' and almost ruined her binder, nevermind hurting her. This program will probably be shut down completely after about 5 major accidents.

  4. People need a challenge. on More Attacks on Linux than Windows · · Score: 1

The reason that the attacks on Linux machines are on the rise is probably because the vast majority of Linux users have taken very well thought out precautions against such attacks.

Windows has almost gotten broing with the huge string of attacks that have been plauging North America for the last couple of years and I think that many of the hackers out there are looking for something challenging to crack; i.e. Linux.
