Can't they tell from my IP? If IP standing up, I'm a male, if IP sitting down, I'm a female.
.I'd say Dell's support is much more important there.
Apple's support is perceived as more important because Apple is perceived as being more influential in leading the computer industry with leading edge technology. I mean, their OS is based on Unix. Can't get more new-fangled than that.
Disney's support is probably worth more that the rest of them combined.
True, but remember that Sony is also a major player in Hollywood. In fact, their entertainment division is supporting the consumer electronics division, despite the success of play station.
Either the Blu-ray group or the NYT is a bit mixed up, but to your credit you got it half right. Blu-ray has no direct application to FCP or iMovie. What they're thinking of is DVD Studio Pro (as you note) and iDVD.
Also (completely different point), I see this as Apple giving support to Sony. Remember when they had the Sony VP on stage at the MWSF keynote? Now that Stringer is the new head honcho at Sony, I've been wondering if we'd see more of a patnership developing, or less.
And totally in the realm of speculation, maybe Stringer was in on the attempted deal to partner Sony with Apple on iTunes/iPod. This could be the main reason Stringer is in, and Ideo (is that the guys name?) is out. Sony had a chance to reverse their fortunes, but turned it down.
And this here is leftism discrediting rightism. You are guilty of the crime you are advocating against.
Funny that you assume that I'm left of center. I'm a fiscal conservative and registered Republican, and I feel betrayed by the criminals that have taken over the Republican party.
Hey, thanks! That was pretty cool. All that beauty and brains, too. I never thought of using chess as a keyword when searching the Russian Mail Order Bride websites! =) Hmmmmm.
I noticed that with some of the professional female Go players in Japan, there's a kind of "idoru" or "pin-up" aspect. Not that I'm much of a Go player. I just like hot brainy babes.
No, the real benefit of a laptop is being able to read slashdot while I'm taking a crap. 802.11 is nice, but if there was no such thing, I would have installed a jack next to the toilet.
I've been a "chess master" three times in such games. Granted it was at Ren (and Stimpy) Faire, so I don't know what his ranking really was. I've never been ranked for that matter. But it was pretty cool, if I do say so myself, having all of the nineteen he'd already beaten plus other spectators watching the games.
Finally, he sort of sheepishly said we should give others a chance, so I went my merrie way.
It's a play on the well known expression "Life imitates Art." This statement connotes irony, because Art (at least in the West since the Renaissance and before Modern Art) was ideally supposed to imitate life.
It's not so much confusion as it is a deliberate tactic by those "on the right"* to discredit their opponents. You could be a centrist, and they'll call you a lefty, because your position is left of theirs.
*Our right wing leaders in the US have left behind their conservative values and are into authoritarianism now. They might profess to be conservatives, but they are not. It's become politics in it's purest form, i.e., not based on any professed principles and ideals, but merely grabbing and holding power, winning at any costs.
They gave Deep Blue "take backs", because otherwise he'll have a tantrum and upset the board. Who knew emergent behavior would be such a pain in the ass?
But it's the same idea. My imagery was just a bit sillier than yours was (and more in line with your typical Hollywood lamer idea of computers. (This is Unix! I know this!)
I remember hearing something good about the writer/director (of Boiler Room), but I don't think he's done anything since. He was supposed to be up and coming and like that.
Well, the summary and the article used the word "assault" enough times that I imagined the record labels' auditors storming the beaches whilst lawyers para'd* to the roof of the building, all to the tune of Flight of the Valkyries.
Hey, it could have been worse. It could have been the FBI.
Many girls go to college to meet men. Societal programming.
You're referring to the MRS degree, of course.

You kids with your ogling. Back in my day, it was gold fish swallowing and sitting atop a flagpole that was all the rage.
Well, it's time for my morning prunes, so 23 skidoo! (23 skidoo is what we used to say.)

Well, seeing as how Sony is a major player in Hollywood, they might be able to do just that.
Either the Blu-ray group or the NYT is a bit mixed up, but to your credit you got it half right. Blu-ray has no direct application to FCP or iMovie. What they're thinking of is DVD Studio Pro (as you note) and iDVD.

Gobbleshoe.
Just like CDs were cheaper than the more expensive to produce vinyl records!
[irony]Not to mention the walkman, which was the iPod of cassette players in it's day.[/irony]

Centrino + Turion = Centurion
2 GB should be enough for anyone. =)
I hear he's holding out for a package deal with ESPN and EA sports. He wants to be the Tony Hawk of Chess.
Eventually got laid, had a kid, took an interest in things outside chess.
Good to see you got your priorities straight, and in order. Oh, wait. How did you get laid before you got interested in things outside of chess? =)

I don't even own a tv.
-- Insert obligatory The Onion reference here. --
Nonono! They try to burn print outs with the words IP LOGS clearly emblazoned across the top.
I didn't see Boiler Room, but I've seen enough bookies get busted on TV. =)

*High Altitude Low Opening (HALO), of course.
Well, cool. Maybe Dell isn't such a crappy company after all (without getting into a build quality flame war). Thanks for responding.
