Banning the teaching of evolution in the schools and replacing science curriculum with theology is seen as positive and good by these people. Putting religious ideologues on science advisory panels is a plus for these people.
It serves to keep things in balance by providing a force to bring back the things that we should not have discarded.
What has been discarded that can be brought back through legislation? The legislation of morals is not really about a return to any fictional Golden Age, it is about power. If you want to vote for the American Mullahs on November 2nd, then vote for Bush. If you're against letting a fundamentalist theocracy controlling the White House, I suggest you vote Kerry or third party. If you're in a swing state, I strongly urge you to vote Kerry, regardless.

Hardly computationally intensive, compared to what one computer can do. Maybe it's needed for all the disc storage space.
Of course you could do this with just one computer, if you were very very patient. The idea is that this is being done as a business, and clients expect results within certain time constraints, known as deadlines.

However, with this iteration, IBM took one of the cores from the dual-core POWER4 chip, repackaged it as the PPC970, and sold it to Apple as the G5.
