the Internet with a modem is NOT the same Internet as it is with high speed. many more things are happening for broadband users. relative to security and privacy spam and viruses top the list of importance and concern but this is one of a thousand lists of things a faster internet connection can do. the Internet roars on... stampedes, maybe?
Ok, I see. The "dow" has been -'ed out. But why keep the s? Intuitively this would spell Lindashs or Lindashes. I think the Lindows marketing team takes one in the L column for this confusing label.
I agree with Michael. The only two neccessities in a cell phone for me are the size (small and thin) and the battery life. I have the LG VX3100 which is probably LG's last "vanilla" cell phone but I love it. Its tiny and because it has only one old fashioned, monochrome screen (no screen on the outside of the flip phone) the battery life is great. As long as it keeps working I don't think I'll every want a super happy color screen camera phone. They're larger than mine and their battery life is much shorter.
This is horrible for us not-so-rich gamers. I still havent' been able to get enough money together to get an xbox and MS is already threatening to release an Xbox2. The life of a game console must be a lot longer than this if you want to get your money out of it. Games for the Xbox1 haven't even began to use all of the potential of the console. It takes the game-making industry years to get to where they can quickly produce great games that use all of the potential of a console. If PS2 would have been released like this, so soon after PS1, hundreds and thousands of great PS1 games would never had existed. MS needs to give game makers A LOT more time and more resources to produce Xbox games before they try to release a new version. That is unless Xbox2 is very similar and game makers can use all of their Xbox1 knowledge for building Xbox2 games and that the Xbox is backwards compatible with the Xbox1. In this case an Xbox2 wouldn't suck. But, its Microsoft. They don't know what the hell gaming is.
When I was in the 7th grade (about 9 years ago) my computer teacher told us that computers would never be able to take voice commands. "Its just impossible," he said. Luckily I was an ignorant lil bastard and never listened to anything he said anyway...
Right off the bat, from reading the headline, this article seems to miss the point. When looking to the future, Mozilla Firebird should be the focus. Firebird will eventually lose the controversial name and be simply 'Mozilla Browser.' This, along with Thunderbird (soon to be 'Mozilla Mail') are really the future of Mozilla much more than the old Mozilla suite which is reaching 2.0.
Um... I get just under 20x when ripping CD tracks to 192kb/sec MP3s. I don't know why you're getting such slow speeds, joshv. The only problem is that iTunes doesn't recognize some CDs, apparently. I just now put in The Strokes and theres nothing I can do to get iTunes to show the CD under the 'Source' pane and play or import it. So I took it out, put in a different CD and that one worked fine. I don't know what the hell this is all about but I would certainly call this a bug. The Strokes CD isn't an enhanced CD, nor is it scratched or anything else that would cause it not to work. In fact, it works in every program except iTunes. >:-(
iTunes is far from 'too limited.' that statement from Microsoft is nothing but pure corporate lying-to-convince-unaware-users-that-our-product-i s-the-best. iTunes is MUCH more functional than Windows Media Player (or any player for that matter). have you ever tried to burn a CD from mp3s or WMAs using WMediaPlayer? the result is a CD that sounds like shit unless you have the volume set extremely low. thats right: very poor quality audio. much lower quality than ANY other burner that burns mp3 files. iTunes, for example, does a much better job. this, my friend, is undisputable. thanks, Apple, for giving us such a powerful program from $nothing!
you're a crazy naked chick is whatchya are. or your're a crazy dude that's obsessed with naked chicks (which certainly can't be the case because those type of guys are so rare!)
i'm a dude, bitch. and i know whats going on with the sco shit. and you don't, apparently. could we go ahead and not discuss it? because it needs no discussion. its an advertisement. read it, goddammit! its says "linux plays no role on the server." this is such bullshit that there is no way to argue it but to sigh and think about how corporate american CEO will be the first to inhabit hell.
sorry buddy but he's right. its an advertisement. so is all of the SCO fud. its complete bull shit. Microsoft and Sun have paid SCO for services: namely, spreading FUD about linux. here sun is doing there part.
it isn't news. its advertising. this is a correct statement, buddy, whether you're into linux, unix, open source proprietary. it makes no difference.
Can you put a hard drive in either computer?

That would make for a pretty cheap RH or SuSE linux box.
Why the hell does everyone copy the Office XP and Windows XP GUI's anyway? They're ugly and make no sense as far as a GUI is concerned. Everytime I use Office XP I get the impression that the toolbar buttons aren't actually supposed to act like this, its a mistake. But no, Microsoft actually decided on this ugliness. So whay do you know, virtually every Windows program on the market tries to look like Office XP which itself is ugly but when you give a halfassed try to recreate that ugly look its even worse. Come on! We're programmers here! We know how GUI should look and feel. How stupid is it to follow Microsoft's drunken footsteps in this regard. They are sorry excuses for programmers. Hats off to Ximian, I think they should definately use the new look/feel.;D
you worthless cowards can't seem to spend your time elsewhere so/. must not be as bad as you say it is.

Here's the Mozilla branding road map. Lets hope Mozilla sticks to this plan. I really think it is the best route for future development.
