.ogg or better know as Ogg Vorbis is a format for media files. Think of a.ogg as an mp3 but half the file size, better sound quality, and the format can't be copy written. Everyone wins!
Is this real or not real? I am a windows user with a mac Ipod (I don't have the cash to trade up) and I want to be able to use.ogg so badly on my ipod. If this is infact true than I would bet that very soon there is going to be a firmware update for the Ipod supporting the.ogg format. This means 4000 songs in my pocket (on the 10gb model) which makes me a very happy panda.
If this isn't true than may I sugest firebombing whomever posted this story?
At my school i've started a radio club. I am trying to broadcast a small station as well. First off there are 2 "things" on the FM band. Everything about 92Khz is considered Commercial Radio. Anything below is considered Educational FM (for college stations, schools, ect). I wish I knew how much a license costs. You will also need to look into a construction permit. You need to get clearance to set up at the place you want to set up before anything. I am probably going to talk to an FCC rep this weekend. As for BMI and ASCAP fees I don't know. I think ill try to play more independent stuff. Almost all non-major labels are really nice about letting you play stuff for free. You just need permission. Since were noncommercial FM i dunno how we would get revenue but than again were not working really...
My email addy is jodathmorr@comcast.net. Email me and we can prolly brainstorm or talk or something.
Good Luck! Don't get discouraged!
PS: The advantage of FM over Webcasting is that you will reach people that you wouldn't normally reach. People can't open up Winamp and stream music from their car wirelessly. They look through their FM dial. Plus CARP will kick your ass if you Webcast.
I've seen the subtitled movie. It wasn't the greatest but I enjoyed it. I love Cowboy Bebop. I have all the subtitled episodes on a vcd:). Half of the show is the music thought and I love the music in it. The only reason I would go this thing is to meet Yoko Kanno (sp?).

I agree with the last guy. Biafra vs Steele would have been a spectical (sp?). I thought Steele was a very good speaker. When I say that I mean he was able to give an intresting talk and keep my attention. His slide presentation was intresting but no where on his website oss.net can I find it. He said everything he showed at H2K2 would be available there. Oh well. I was suprised he didn't plug his books more often though. I've seen some pretty lame speakers whos every third comment was "Buy my book". I didn't notice he was that evasive but he did 'beat around the bush' alot. But he gave me pretty stickers so its all good.
There like a part of history! I want one in my room. I'd pay a little for one... Anyone else?
