this is what an operating system is supposed to enable. That is why I recently made the 'switch' to a PowerBook running OS X Jaguar.
Rendevous is a 'framework' that enables an amazing array of functionality in many different applications. For instance, in iChat I can use rendevous to converse with others on my local network, devoid of going through a central authority (server) on the internet.
Rendevous is also open source. I think it has to be said that Apple is making great strides with open source for a commercial company with roots in strictly proprietary technology.
This is g to the oatse, c to the izzex news. This kind of slow but steady creep onto PC's in any area of the business sector is what is needed right now. The consumer desktop will hopefully follow this route as well.
It was a sad day when Fox stooped to entertaining the theory on its special (the company should have lost priviledges to the monicker "journalism" that instant).
It was shown on the Fox network channel, not on the cable news channel Foxnews.
I say anyone who believes that M$ would give away Windows or ever decrease its' price as long as Billy G. is involved in the company is not factoring in ego.

That kind of imagination shouldn't be presented in public.
