Stupid point of view, you're saying we have to wait until some no-goodnick exploits a known and proven weakness before we lift a finger to do anything? No, they need to be fixed before something bad happens. some of us are responsible for machines that handle billions of dollars, we can't take your lazy attitude

irrelevant point, there is no source in that article that says the Trump administration is doing what is claimed. Instead innuendo and extrapolation done from reports of other things.

    In short, no proof.

what we call "left wing" in USA would be like Obama or if Bernie Sanders won.... that's all I meant. We of course don't have real left wing with any chance of getting power. I have no use for either end of the spectrum myself

it's two years old and the claimed "successor" model has smaller screen, crappier camera and same specs otherwise....hah!

  6. read the article, no source within the article says Trump admin is actually doing that. A bunch of other studies and models referenced.

Nonsense, people are living longer and longer and less people smoke. But smokers have 1 in 3 chance of dying by disease caused by their filthy smelly habit. Clearly air pollution less dangerous

  12. Indian company announced that a few years ago. The only good thing about something like that in a hot country is that the cooling effect can act as air conditioner while pushing the car.

still the company folded up, it's way too expensive to push a car that way compared to fossil fuel or battery.

  15. the energy consumption is negligible though, despite all the lies and hysteria articles recently made.

the IEEE article "the ridiculous amount of energy it takes to run bitcoin" estimated the energy as comparable to a city and that by 2024 *might* be comparable to Denmark's....

so right now, it's a drop in the bucket compared to say porn, bank accounts, insurance, etc.

properly paid internship is a blessing.

  17. except bit coin energy expenditure is negligible, comparable to a city (what the IEEE article on the subject says), never mind the alarmist nonsense claims of country-level amounts of energy being consumed. A moment of logic is all it takes to see that. it's a drop in the bucket

  18. it of course was a boondoggle, compressed air is a notoriously inefficient means of energy storage. anyone in engineering knows that, we're talking 85% loss typically.

  19. it can be a little better than that, where compressed air is 15% efficient. in other words 85% of energy is wasted. those of us who work in industrial engineering know that fact. it's a lousy energy storage system, to thing some "greenie" would advocate it is hilarious.

  20. absolutely false and ignorant of thermodynamics. compressed air is only 15% efficient for energy storage at best. there is zero reason to use it.

  25. riveting of hull wasn't an issue, not the cause of disaster. Even the steel composition really wasn't an issue, it was standard for the time even if too brittle with high sulfur and low nitrogen by today's standards. Even with modern steel if everything else was the same the thing probably would have sank anyway. The sister ship of the Titanic had a long and safe career for 20 years after the sinking.
