Go see it here. It will feature music and lyrics obviously, like a real karaoke machine, but it will let you copy your own MP3's and WMA's from your PC, more or less rip out the voice from the song, add your own lyrics and upload them to your Xbox. New songs will also be available on Xbox live.
Add to that the possibility of uploading pictures on the box and viewing them on your TV screen, and you've got a really good product.
X. KOTOR, Deus Ex 2 and Splinter Cell I own/will own for my PC The thing is I got bored with the PC. It's not that the games are bad, not at all. After all, I'm playing games that will mostly all have or already have PC ports. I just got tired of upgrading the hardware. Plus, I prefer controllers to keyboard/mouse (though it's true a FPS on a console would be more enjoyable with a keyboard/mouse combo). That's why I decided to buy a console and enjoy the hell out of it. At least with the Xbox I don't have to worry about driver issues. Plus it beats the hell ouf of having to buy a new video card every 18 months to enjoy the new games with the full settings, since they cost more than 250.00CAN$, the price of an Xbox. Sure Halo and KOTOR will look nicer on my PC, but at least I don't have to worry if they'll run well.
And come to think of it, it has the first Windows operating system that never crashed or BSOD on me! Woohoo!
Anyway, if you feel left out buy a GCN for $99 In a perfect world, I'd be able to afford all consoles. But I can't right now. And if I do buy another console, it will be the Game Boy Advance.
The point is, I've only played these games yet since these are the only games I own right now. But generally, I'm not really into exclusive content, as my next purchases will most probably be Alias and X-Files: Resist or Serve and I'm thinking about buying a used copy of Burnout 2. ESPN NHL Hockey is also interresting. Games like kill.switch and Deus Ex 2 are also on my watch list. And Starcraft : Ghost when it comes out 5 years from now.
As for the exclusive games you mentionned, some I haven't seen or even heard of (Super Monkey Ball, Suidoken, Skies of Arcadia), some I never liked( Bomberman ), some I don't like their games anymore ( Kingdom Hearts, FFX, FFX2, Xenosaga ) since they decided CG was better then gameplay, one I'll go check out at a friend's house one day (Diagaea), some I prefer to play with friends but don't want to buy 4 controllers (MarioKart, Super Smash Brothers). Metroid Prime I miss dealy, and FF:CC looks nice.
I'm surprised you haven't mentionned GTA3 and Vice City. Maybe you didn't because they're coming to the Xbox in a few weeks. I hate those games. They make people kill other people. (just kidding). I just don't dig these two games.
So if I'm going to play games that are going to be on all platforms anyway, I'm better off with the one who has the best graphics and sound. Net play is not a big draw for me, but I prefer the Microsoft offer, even though it has a membership fee.
The only exclusive games I'm looking forward are Halo 2 (obviously) and Gotham Racing 2. And maybe Sudeki.
What's the big deal with exclusive games? I play videogames, not exclusive games. Also, the reason why I bought the Xbox is because it featured the games I wanted to play. The are no other games on the other consoles that I miss right now, except FF : Crystal Chronicles. All the really great games right now in my opinion come out on all the platforms 9 times out of 10. And I'm glad to have an Xbox, because I can play Amped, KOTOR, Halo and Splinter Cell, games I own which are exclusive to Xbox (Amped), or on the Xbox months before it is on another console or the PC. The only console I miss right now is the Game Boy Advance, since it seems that it's finally getting a lot of original and interresting games and not remakes.
Now, if you'd just be so kind as telling me the CD's you've downloaded, erase them from your hard drive, throw away your burned CDs and give me a written confession that you won't do it again and I'll forget about what you just said.;)
Sure, but I bet there are lots of NES owners who own an Xbox now and nothing else and are pissed at CAPCOM. I mean, what do they think I was playing when I was 8? A NES of course, like almost everyone else.
It's not as if Square decided to make a compilation of FF 7,8 and 9. People who want to play these games normally owned a PS1 and probably now own a PS2, so they could play the theoratically remake of these games. (come to think of it, I read rumors somewhere that FF7 is being redone in fact for the PS2).
But with games as classic as Megaman, maybe surpassed only by Mario and Zelda games, it's a shame that it's not released on the Xbox. After all, it's not as if there was less Xboxes than GameCubes over here, and it's not as if Megaman was popular only in Japan.
One can only hope to see these ports on the Xbox one day.
And don't forget Kefka, the best FF vilain ever. Sephiroth is a pale immitation of Kefka. Come on, Kefka wanted to build a monument dedicated to non-existance, how cool is that?:)
I was not aware of that. But still, couldn't they just get along?:)
Anyway, when I think Apple, I don't think the Beatles, I think either food or a Mac. And I'm sure more that 90% of the people will say so. Heck, I'm sure if you say Apple Corps, people will still think you're talking about the computer maker!
Let Apple buy Apple Corps and sell their songs on iTunes. This is a win-win scenario.
Apple solves the trademark issue, they get access to a very popular library of music and Apple Corps makes even more money since they're part of a proven and working online music retailer.
Plus, Apple's (as in iPod) lawyers are going to drool over the amount of money they're going to make with all the royalties on the Beattles music.
I already RTFA as you blatantly put it, and I'm just not impressed at what they are doing. What's wrong with these people? Put it in your pocket and it's done! Start making something that we NEED!
predicts the computers and technology we wear in four or five years time will not draw attention to ourselves.... And Dr. Dianne Jones from textile company SOFTswitch, maker of the Burton Amp jacket which integrates an Apple iPod
We already have that. It's called a JACKET. You put iPod in a compartment called your POCKET and the player is integrated to your JACKET and it doesn't draw attention to yourself.

You should remember that Canada is also part of North America, and we've had the Halo/Amped/Xbox bundle since February. They're still selling them at 279.99CAN$, so I'll quite a deal, since an Xbox alone is 259.99CAN$. I bought mine 3 months ago and haven't regretted since.
IIRC, FFX still hasn't seen it's price lowered either, or not much. Microsoft and Bungee are no more guilty then Sony and Square. That's one law of marketting : as long as it is selling well, there's not reason to lower the price.
Robber Told to Take a Hike By Armed Homeowner We had a story like this happen in Montreal a few months ago. This guy had a little grocery story, and he was stolen at night when it was closed. They didn't find prints and the video didn't get their face. So the owner is pissed. Next week, his store is vandalized again on the same night. Again, no luck. So the guy asks if the police could put his store on surveillance the week after so they could catch the thiefs next time. The police said it couldn't, they didn't have the people to spare for this kind of job. So the guy decided to take the law in his own hands and sleeps in his store with a friend the next friday and wait for the robbers. Well, the robbers came and they were caught completely off-guard. The owner and his friend had baseball bats. They hit both robbers and gave them quite a beating.
Well guess what? Now the robbers are pressing charges against the store owner for assault and the store owner was arrested for assault! How retarded is that?
First PS2 people killed people, now Xbox owners are going to go on a killing spree too. Madness I tell you! Dead walking out of their graves, dogs and cats sleeping together, mass hysteria!
After you posted that, I read it. I also looked for people who criticized David Hardy. Guess what, there's a lot in the argument you game me that is false or misinterpretation. See for yourself here.
Go see it here.

You're right, my bad. I read that somewhere too.
I'd much rather see FF3 finally come to the US.
Yeah, that would be really cool. I really liked this game. It's one of the best FF with FF6.
The point is, I've only played these games yet since these are the only games I own right now. But generally, I'm not really into exclusive content, as my next purchases will most probably be Alias and X-Files: Resist or Serve and I'm thinking about buying a used copy of Burnout 2. Yah, I forgot games were in megabits these days, since they looked so much bigger! ;)
NES roms are at most IIRC 4 megs. I believe the GC memory card is 8 megs, so it shouldn't pose a problem.
What's the big deal with exclusive games? I play videogames, not exclusive games. Also, the reason why I bought the Xbox is because it featured the games I wanted to play. I'd rather be moderated (Score:5, Pissed ).

A good start.
