How many of us would want to have sex in front of our parents? Even if we're married? Some things are just privite. Nor would I want to do anything riskyish in front of my parent, my mom refused to go to any of the choreographed sword fights I was in, for that kind of reason
One of your points about diesel is that you can burn bio-disesel...right? Bio-disesel: is
made from corn or soy crops, and is therefore renewable. Producing bio-fuel has the same problems as producing hydrogen or electricly for EV/hydrogen cars. You still have to grow and harvest the crops, then process them. To grow these crops, enough to power a nation of cars, we will have to give up that amount of cropland and work that could be used for other things. Bio-fuels have to be created, just like electricly, and the converstion process from sunlight to plant, to bio-fuel, to car-moving combustion, isn't the most economical either. Bio-fuels maybe usefull, but definitly not the other answer.
Yeah, I get that you are jokeing (probaly): I just wanted to mention that to eat plants, we usually now grow them, and they give us air while they are growing/living. The insane number of animals we breed produce unhealthy amount of waste that pollution, like methane gas and cattle, plus those animals eat far more plants than we would eat if we ate only plants, what do you think the cattle eat?
O, my god! I just realized how anal I sound, *sigh* oh well, off-topic here I come!
Well, from what I have read of biology, there really isn't a big difference in the tissue of male and female genitial, more in how its aranged.
We all start "female" you know, its just that at a certain time in the womb, we start produceing different hormones and that steers our developement in a slightly different direction. If you look at human anatomy, it seems very obvious to me, the common origins of our sex organs. Tesicles are simply lowered, altered overies for one thing. Being they had to shape the penis anyways, I don't see why you couldn't create one out of a woman's tissue sample.
For a computer geek, I will admit being fairly well introduced to the wonderfull differences between men and women, but when you really look at it, we aren't all that different.
(Please excuse my spelling, I'm a sleep deprived 3rd shifter today)
Yes, by wieght, hydrogen releases alot (yeah im being vague) more energy than methane, one reason to consider though is than methane is more dense than hydrogen, that why you can make a blimp out of hydrogen....by mass hydrogen migh not be as energy dense.
I found an article a few years ago about a chip that was designed so that each 'gate or switch' (I am not an electrial engineer) whatever they are called, could be changed. One experiement they did with it was to run similiar program and evolve a circuit that could test if a signal was 10 hz. or 100hz. Mathimatically they projected that the perfect circuit would require about 100 units (think they called them cells or something). Anyway, the thing I remember best is that the circuit that evolved ended up using less of the chip than they thought possible, and worked! They couldn't understand how it was working and assumed that something must be utilizeing some weird quatum effect or other element that the scientists didn't expect. The article then went into a possible problem for evolveing hardware like this. If they evolve to use a propery other than just binary computation through tranistor switches, what if those strange behaviors are depenent on some factor of the enviroment? Like, what if a evolved chip only works properly at a range of 35-40 C ? Or more easly affected on electroic noise, or needs electronic noise? Like the circuit in this article, if there was no osculation nearby, it probaly wouldn't work would it? Doesn't mean this isn't usefull science, just something to think about, watch out for.
Number one: I agree, too few of us understand that the nature of this country; the concepts of freedom and democracy (or at least the ilusions thereof) means that to be a patriot is to be a fighter for freedom and reason. To always question the words and actions of our leaders, to re-evaluate current thinking, to voice concerns. Battle ignorance in yourself, in the world. Open your mind (bone-saws are fun!)
And to comment on another person's comment to you: You know what? I don't think you made your point very elliquently, Mr. Dark Lord (yeah, Im not a world class speller, sue me), and calling names usually isn't a good way of communicateing. But we slashdotters need to realize that just because someone is a horrible speller, or uses this forum to rant abit and speak the way s/he likes, instead of making it all so perddy like (as I am so hopelessly attempting) doesn't mean that it isn't an extremely insightfull or at least vaild point, bit of information, whatever.
Thank you, goodnight *bows*
As a gifted student haveing been taught in several low-income public schools, I have many issues about teachers. Too often they fear students who know more about the subject than they, or who ask questions they can't answer.
I have had a principle tell a group of us speaking about communism and about how communeist's are quite different from nazi's, that we "know too much for our own good."
At the same time, it is quite apparent to me that our teachers don't get paid enough, and often don't have the resources or freedom to teach properly that they need.
The teachers that are much more accepting that a child might be right and they might be wrong sometimes, seem to be much better at guideing youths into educating. No one can force you to learn, only guide you. Its the teachers that see themselves as guides instead of information cramming devices that do the most for students.
Thats just my little rant, thankyou.
do you love working? http://whywork.org
Hrmmm...well, from my nick. I would guess that anyone who has read the book can tell I have a couple times, not exactly my favorite, but I did like the name. For as much as I hate the way people write in self-righteous replies correcting information, it's hard not to here. Lets see: Nukes produce huge amount of lethal radation that can make an area inhostipitable for hundreds of thousands of years, their poisoin can drift far beyond the orginial target, easyily into areas totally un-afiliated. Nukes ARE bad. The hurling of big rocks was done seeking far treatment. If you read some of the other replies here, you'd know that only un-civilized areas were picked for targets, and that they were warned. If you read the book, you'd notice that the revolutionaries did hold themselves to a higher moralality. Stop calling people sheep when you don't even understand what they are "braying" about.
Man, I hate all what you just described, personally, to screw with the gorcery stores, I love to get a new card everytime I go in there and am not in a big hurry, and falseifly the info.
Yeah, so this comment got labeled flamebait huh? well I must say I tend to agree on both sides of this, I hate the RIAA and everything they are doing, but the statement "an eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind"? thats a good point.
I think ultimately we need to keep looking for alternitive sources of music. Indepent labels and artists. Stop buying from the RIAA.
I'm glad they got DOS'ed hope they as an industry finally kick the bucket, but I still agree that this is a good point to think abo
