The only thing about the zebra danio (the parent fish) is that it only gets about 3-5 cm long, ever. Now, i know that it's not known whether the genetic manipulation of the danio to glow under UV light would cause one to, say, survive in temperate waters (they're a tropical fish), or grow to enormus dimensions. Nonetheless, the millions of fish raised and tested to bring this pet to market should be sufficient to show that there is not a great chance for this to happen.
How do you Penn students feel about your fees going to this?
About the same as I feel paying all the rest of the fees associated with the 'privelege' of being a Penn State student.
it's still free lunch if you live off campus. my ISP doesn't block ports, and there's not download limit. the only sucky part is the fact that my cable modem's top speed is not as fast (when nobody else is on) as the residence hall network (when nobody else is on)
well, in our government's defense (this time), those curtains were bought to hide the breasts simply to stop the press from acting like 5th graders trying to get politicians into a shot with the breast. if you see the actual setting, the statue would hardly be seen from a normal point of view, but photographers would go out of their way to include them in a shot.
that kind of hurt. i'm not here for the money, i'm here because i want to be a civil engineer. (i know, i know, the least glamorous of all engineering professions) of course, i will be paid to be an engineer later, but for the first few years, i hope to devote my education to the peace corps. i guess i won't be able to afford HDTV until HDTV2 is the standard
i think you're failing to see that 'tests the p4 were made to do' means the same as 'the p4 does the things that people want to do best, and worries about other things later'
it's a fair oversight. all i am saying is that the p4 was designed to best at things that require the most processor-intensive labor, forsaking some minor things that could be better handled by memory utilization improvements. (in that field, intel could stand to do some work)
Unfortunately, SOME software vendors like to sell corporations 'packages' which include regular 'upgrades' to whatever system is being sold. This basically means that the company has tied itself to upgrading, whether or not they need to, simply to keep getting new hardware/software at a reduced price.
I personally feel that this system was once beneficial to the companies, when computers and software were advancing so rapidly that the only way to get the maximum benefit was to upgrade regularly. Today, things have calmed down a bit, and a (for example) pentium III computer is very much capable of doing most jobs. Hopefully corporations will realise this and begin hanging on to hardware/software for longer amounts of time.
well, I'm still waiting for 1g cellular, and I live in the USA! I'd say we better at least get that accomplished before we get too carried away with these fancy wireless protocalls.
Oh yeah, while you're at it, could you bring us some broadband too?
Yes, it does partially have to do with the afforementioned rocket failure, but i'm sure there are other factors involved. Anybody have any good insights?
I really will have to change my thinking soon. When i see '06, i think.30-06, which was designed in 1906. Now i have to deal with '06 being 3 years in the future... damn.
well, you raise a good point, but the All In Wonder prefix to that 9700 Pro you looked at adds a lot to the cost. Basically, you get the 9700 Pro, as well as video capture/editing capabilities. Also, I believe there is a breakout box on the AIW, which of course adds many I/O capabilities in it's own right. Basically, the AIW is not meant to be a direct competitor with the GeForce TI
I've been wondering if Sony changed the name from Playstation to PSX, and subsequently PS1 and PS2 due to this issue? Just think about it: Sony knew that Nintendo had joint ownership of the name, so they began phasing it out. The name was too recognizable to drop completely, so Sony just slowly started shrinking the Playstation word in the title of anything, with the intention of not actually calling the console that name anymore. Any opinions? If this is redundant, i'm sorry.
I live on a dairy farm, and the smell of cow s@#t does not bother me, but every time i go near a chicken/pig/horse/veal/insert animal here farm, the stench is nearly unbearable. Basically, many people complain about many smells, but those defending the smells are usually desensitized to them, which causes quite a problem.
Reminds me of the nearest city to my home (Williamsport, PA, USA): There is a large Stroehman's bread factory that used to spew the smell of fresh baked bread (they actually filtered it enough to make it smell quite palatable). The EPA came in, and they were forced to install filters, not due to complaints, but due to the CO2 emissions from the yeast.
also, i think you're referring to the snakefish, not the alligator gar

well now maybe they can get this disease under control and get back to finding cures for the diseases that are killing more people than SARS
(disclaimer: i understand that the fear is of SARS becoming a larger killer, but so far it seems to be under control.)

I refer to the US Army Corps as 'the Corps'... but that's because I work for them in the summers between semesters.

how about when i can afford one? (college is expensive)

d'oh, -1 for forgetting to turn on HTML...
Maybe I should use that 'Preview' button more often.

As a firebird owner, i almost take offense. Your demi-flame is quenched, however, by the following statement:
Anyone who would like to buy a 1987 Pontiac Firebird, respond to this post. More details to follow.

I've had it in my DirecTV reciever for like 8 years now. It's been in the USA for a long time, but nobody's noticed.

Talk about a bummer.
