Now I can make another Beowulf Cluster in my basement. Except this time I won't worry about tripping over cables, that pulls two nodes off the shelf and sends them crashing to the floor, forcing me to work another 6 months to get everything running again.

  5. Why OpenOffice ? on Microsoft Word Security Flaw · · Score: 1

Why is everyone so jazzed up OpenOffice. Yes it does a great job of working with Microsoft Office products, but it is still extremely slow to startup. I am glad that it is here for now but I am less than impressed with the office suite. I think that GobeProductive will over shadow OpenOffice when it is finally released. The pre-alpha handles Microsoft Office files great and is much faster than OpenOffice

  6. Re:Useful, but not necessary on Programming PHP · · Score: 1

I agree completely with you. And to append on to what you said. Most books that come out on PHP are already out of date as far as the all the new functions that PHP has. This isn't a rib on the writers of the PHP books, it's just because of the time it takes to write the book, go through the publishing process and get the book shipped.

By then new functions have come out and the book that was supposed to cover PHP is now obsolete.

And again as much as I respect the writers and publishers of the PHP books, I find my times the comments below the functions on php's website to be more helpful than any book.
