Don't know about you but I can't see infra red and unless thermal imaging cameras (not near infra red gun sights, we're talking far infra red) become standard issue I don't see this happening.
The old style peroxide jetpacks don't require fly by wire control because just like this one they have the centre of gravity BELOW the exhausts so the pilot is effectively dangling down beneath. All that would happen if he let go of the controls is that it would probably weave around a bit at random but its unlikely to go upside down or completely out of control.

Perhaps if people hadn't been so free with downloading illegally it wouldn't have happened. Complaining about it now is a bit like moaning about supermarkets that have installed CCTV because of people stealing from them. Sure , it would be better without , but blame the thief, not the retailer.
Why is suggesting people should pay for media always seen as flamebait or similar on here? I realise/. is generally populated by teens or students who have little or no concept of earning a living, but you'd think some people would be mature enough to accept that media isn't free to create and the people who do so should be rewarded for their efforts as they so please.
... and isn't on you to prove you didn't after they've throttled or cut your connection , then I don't have a problem with it. I have little sympathy with the bleating from the p2p boys who'll whine about freedom to share as they please. Sorry lads , but someone had to spend time and money for that music or film to be created , theres no good reason you should get it for free. If you're too tight to pay for it , tough luck, thats your problem.
Oh here we go , anyone who says anything about java thats not 100% pro is a "zealot" or biased or some other epithet chucked over the wall by one of the sad fanboys. You might want to look into the mirror pal and examine what *you* are.
Yes its used , but not everywhere, and not even always in the join-the-dots parts. For example its still easier to write apache plugin modules in straight C.
Its like watching a war in Lilliput. Meanwhile proper coders get on and write the serious back end stuff where you have to worry about query optimisations , memory usage, threading models etc. Not whether some fluffy widget is implemented using javascrap, ruby off the rails or some other mickey mouse sand boxed GUI enviroment.
Sorry , but you can't just throw money at a particular problem and expect a solution tommorow. What do you expect the disabled to do , sit around not being able to get into any buildings for 30 years while a cure is found? Get real.
Ok , this disability access thing has probably gone too far now , but I don't think its unreasonable to install a wheelchair ramp if its fairly inexpensive and easy to do.
What he did may or may not have been legal (i think there was an out of court settlement but I'm not 100% sure), but it sure as hell wasn't ethical. So its a bit rich for Facebook to get all high and mighty about its (rather poor) look and feel being stolen.
Read up the history of how Mark Zuckerberg allegedly nicked the idea from some Harvard guys he was supposed to be working for to develop a similar site. Makes for interesting reading though I notice the wikipedia entry has been sanitised to remove some inconvenient facts about facebook's gestation.
To me this lawsuit is hypocricy of the worst type.
If theres a choice between having something plugged into you or dying the choice is pretty clear. If its just so you can have quicker access to the internet I think most people would say no.
"but if the entire computer is inside them they really won't care."
"I expect in another 100 years we'll have direct-from-brain transfer of information to and from our implanted minicomputers"
Meh , that crops up all the time in sci-fi and futuroligist stuff. I'm not convinced. The technology may become available but I doubt many people apart from a few techno fetischists and body piercing types would really want a machine plugged into their body full time, much less their brains.
... but will there be anything still able to read it in 2108? Even today finding something to read a laserdisk or some old style floppy disks is an issue and thats only 30 year old tech!
Because no matter what alternative to power generation comes up , you'll get some hemp wearing yoghurt knitter coming up with one of the above complaints.
Otherwise some FM radio listeners could be in for a surprise during the testing!

Why anyone would want to live there is a mystery to me. Is saving tax really worth living in a sterile cultureless city in the middle of a desert?
To reflect light to produce an image by moving said mirrors. Sounds pretty similar to me.
Probably something to try and get around this hack thats appeared for MiFARE.
Do I believe all this happening now with Oyster is just a co-incidence given part of the hack was made public recently? Err , no, I bloody don't.

And various types of LCD screens are only similar in the sense that they use liquid crystals. So, completely different then...
Something that was invented 20 years ago. I wonder if Texas Instruments have their lawyers on standby...

Yes , feel free to tell it to Banks , a lot of whom write server side in C/C++, perl & python. I know , I've worked in enough of them.

Heh , pity I don't have mod points, that made me smile :) Its so true.

Thats because frame buffers were one of those seemed-a-good-idea-at-the-time. But that time is passed.
