These are no brainers and the reason I'm still using MD
1. Physical Size.
2. Media Size.
3. Battery Life.
I'm still disappointed by the battery life of these MP3 Players, sure you can carry a truckload of music around, but that's no good if you have to juice it up every couple of hours. My MD lasts for 40 hrs playback and with a handful of discs is great.
The only MP3 device that impresses me is the iPod - nice interface, flexible, big storage and as good a battery life as the rest of them.
I used to work for Compaq who were very good at buddying up to everyone - Oracle, M$, Sun, Linux, etc...
And considering Compaq accounts for a sizeable chunk of the new HP it's not surprising that they have taken this stance. It doesn't mean that HP won't stop competing with M$ by shipping *nix boxes.
HP bought Compaq and are sorting out which products to keep and which to biff. HP's de100c Digital music cente is clearly a superior product so they're ditching the Compaq product. This will most likely also mean no support, no upgrades and no point in buying it.

I hope they speak jive like the Futurama police bots. "You call that an antenna?"
Yeah - if M$ had removed the WTC Towers from their flight sim the guys hijacking the planes would not have had so much practice.
What about Richard Pearse?
