I don't get the cynical comments in the post.

First we critize MS when their securtity fails, now that their security is improving we still critize their efforts. Grow up.

Besides, a more secure Win2K should mean a better Net for everyone. If these boxes can stay locked down and free of trojans, in theory we shoul see a decrease in attack/hack attemps.

I could/would agree in principle if there is no monitary value attached to a lawsuit of this type. But, if someone is just trying to get rich because they feel themselves slighted is crazy.

And like I said, why go in with "guns a-blazing." What is wrong with starting with some polite e-mails/letters/phone calls? And, then esclate to something as letigious as a law suit as a last resort.
    peace :)

So...just send a polite letter to web master to make a change. A lawsuit over something like this is just silly. It is a private company and if they choose to ingnore potential customers than let the market sort it out.

Not to mention..southwest does have an 800 number.

Not to be a troll. But, how is this not "carpet bagging?" I have lived in a district where this happened and I can say that most of the people I knew were not pleased. Even if you feel that you finding a like minded community, people will still feel that you are trying to trump the ecltorial process. I for one would be pissed and I lean generaly toward libertarian views. And god-forbid you shipped in votes move home after a year or two....you shouldn't be suprised by a tremendous backlash.

I didn't see this in the google cahche of the sight so forgive me if i missed it. Is the FSP going to consider the vocation of its members when choosing a location? Or, are the Sowftware and Semicon guys going to have work on the docks new positions open. And, how about deadbeats and those down on their luck? Is the FSP going to allow wards of the state?

It has nothing to do with mom or dad's wealth....I grew up with single mom (my father died at age 35) who worked 2 and sometimes 3 jobs. Needless to say I had to take out some student loans but (20K total)...But, I paid off that in the first 3 years after graduating. I simpy deferd from buying luxury items untill that was gone. (And yes a shinny new car or the latest and greatest pentium/athlon are luxury items).....In short is all about setting priorites and budgetting....whining about someone else's luck is just an excuse for poor planing

Amen Brother.... I am in the middle of the same thing it appears you went through....I still haven't found a job yet (4 months off) but my wife and I purchesed a modest house and both drive 7 year old cars. Most of my co-workers scoffed when my wife and I decided to "only" buy a 2400 sq/ft home, while everyone else here in dallas at the time was buying 4000+ sq/ft homes for 2 people while driving new cars. Needless to say, even though things a a bit rough. My wife and I are not too woried about the long-term issues and we are still able to save a good amount of money every month. We just watch the spending (No Credit cards) and took our 2 week vacation in South America rather than Europe. Things arn't as bleak as people would like to belive as long as people lear to live confortably below their means.

You could try what I did and suprise her with the band and give the satisifaction of picking the engagement ring. This realy helped as I have never been interested in jewerly and had no idea what to get. It worked out well as I found out that I would have most certantly picked the wrong cut and my wife realy did indeed pick something that cost less than I would have spent without her help.
