I have enjoyed Runescape (a Jagex browser game).
The combat certainly doesn't rival console gaming experiences but it is there as a complement to quests - many of which are of the puzzle variety.
I once heard of a mythical place where the truth could be spoken without fear of reprisal. Unfortunately this poor bloke might have see if he can find a job there.
It took some millions of years to bring our cognitive capabilities to their present levels and it will take a bit more than a decade to deconstruct them.
Laziness is nothing new to our generation. Its how one uses a tool to their advantage that distinguishes us.
IF on of these was captured or destroyed what would be the consequence? It would be an interesting court case (if the person wasn't whisked off to a black hole to be not tortured).
I am sure the executive response would be the usual tortured logic. We don't spy on citizens... but if we did it would be classified... and if you reveal this IS happening you are on the side of the terrorists...so if they swatted a bug...they committed an act of war(since the bugs are an instrument of the "war on terror")...and protester is thereby an enemy combatant...enemy combatants have no rights and for all practical purposes are not citizens...ergo...we don't spy on citizens.
And where would someone get these low-tech devices? Try finding a cell phone anymore that doesn't have a camera. I don't want a bloody camera! The attraction of the iPHONE to many was a simple UI...and these folks got burned.
If a person has an emotional stake in a relationship with someone online or through an Avatar in a video game it is real. If there is a bi-directional communication with emotional attachment...it is real.
I am reminded of what the skin horse in the Velveteen Rabbit had to say on the matter: "It's a thing that happens to you. When a child loves you for a long, long time, not just to play with, but REALLY loves you, then you become Real."
Thanks for the clarification. These thrusters adjust the orientation of the satellite. It is also for this reason that there are not fuel lines interconnecting these fuel systems. The additional tubing and failure modes would more than cancel any benefit.
The way I interpret what they are doing is more a matter of planning their usage of thrusters so all of the tanks run out at the same time. This is similar to some work I did in manufacturing where you would balance the usage of the various cutters swapped into a CNC machine so that the all the cutters would be on the same maintenance cycle. If one cutter did 80% of the work and needed to be replaced every 2 hours and the others lasted for a week, you would get much less throughput than if you off loaded some of the work of that cutter to other perishable tools.
If a reviewer can be sued for an unfavorable review, can the poor suckers that go to the "Movie of the Year - five stars!" file a class action suit against the lame-o reviewer for their $7.50 + $1M in emotional anguish?
How ironic that it took over 40 years of economic war (what the cold war really was) to push the iron curtain into rubble...and only 4 years for Bush and his criminal gang to turn the USA into everything that was wrong about the Eastern Block.
Like sheep we fork over our civil liberties. We should all go register for our turn to speak at a local free speech zone and let our government know they have crossed the line!
The problem isn't the blogs. The problem is consolidation of media under the control of a small number of angry white men. There was a day when investigative journalists spent months researching a story, facts were rigorously checked, editors backed them up with the parent corporation against the powerful people they were going to piss off when their story published. This form of journalism A:costs money and B:threatens the inner circle of the puppet masters that own the media.
Now you can fill a whole page reporting on reporting (e.g. listen to how daytime talk radio spins the NYT spot about a narrow opportunity for success in Iraq where they take a flawed line of logic - NYT = Liberal Media -> narrow but real chance for success -> "liberals" have to admit Bush is right -> true believers can rejoice that the insurgency is in its last days).
If there is nothing juicy that anyone else has researched and reported there is always Paris Hilton and her clones to fill the show or publication with non-news.
I have heard the free market folks argue that market forces will provide some utopian world free of laws, and regulations that enslave us. Sure a pure capitalist would say that market forces should prevent me from stealing your lawn mower out of your garage and shitting on the floor to mark my territory. Then of course market forces would prevent me from killing you and your family and feeding you all to my unleashed pit bull.
My point that I am laboring to make here is that rule of law is foundational to any economic system and what they were doing is stealing and lying. Current events with tainted food and lead coated baby toys are enough to convince me that laws and regulations aren't such a bad thing.
I remember when the automated sales calls first came out. My mom would patiently wait for the long automated pitch and at the end it would record your name and address if you were interested in the product. She gave the name and office address of the attorney general for the state.
Can you make fancy cowboy boots out of a mainframe?
I was last in Washington over 20 years ago and took quite a few photos of the buildings on the mall. I wonder how long it takes to be stopped now.

Even if they make my CPU happy and cool I want to know where they emit all that heat!

And if you couldn't figure out how to harness that thermal differential you can't spell "thermodynamics".
I's gonna be a zillionaire.

You failed to make your observation in a free speach zone. Your failure to comply will be noted in your "freedom file".

Now that Rove is available I am sure he would be confirmed with no problem. Certainly a man that can put the law before partisan considerations.

Let's just hope he takes Cheney with him!

In his parallel universe she is a bikini model and invites her girlfriends over for pillow fights...queue the '70s bass riff.
Say what you like about Apple, there should be some rewards for innovation.
Maybe the Queen of England should haul J&J into court.

I would prefer "Sir Pass Me A Guiness"
