My iPod Touch probably gets a hell of a lot more email than 4MB per day and deals with tricky issues such as Loss Of Signal. Talk about a solution looking for a problem.
Hasn't this story appeared previously (over and over again)? It sounds like peak oil.
LOL -- they are checking the referring URL. Just open a new tab and cut-n-paste the chicagocrimes URL and away you go!

At present, there is a paucity of information collected by the kernel, especially for disk I/O.
