I think if the military wants to use it they should at least give their training program up to download, or pay some full-time developers to improve the Linux Kernel (or other open source project) and publicly release the modifications, it would be better for them and everyone, and why wouldn't they do that they have billions (trillions?) of dollars to spend.

But what happens to privacy when everything you buy can be tracked from store floor to door?

You start bringing a magnet and destroy the really small circuitry which is transmitting your location.

Are you guys idiots or something, you don't pay for content, you pay for bandwidth! The bandwidth can be used to view other's sites. The only content you are paying for is your ISP's homepage. Most web sites are *completely* different organizations. You guys seem to be under the impression that the internet is one big corporation and every one that produces content on the internet gets paid, although that used to be what AOL was like it's not any more. Why you would use AOL is beyond me.

Most likely he didn't read the manual that came with it, if you read it most of them say that you're only supposed to use it for 10minutes/day when you first start out, and only on low speed for lack of words. Otherwise that's probably what happens to you.

Maybe a possible solution to this would be only allowing certain IP's to connect to their servers, so if you wanted to chat you would go to their web site enter your IP and type in some letters shown in a picture, to make it bot-proof.

  6. Corrput on Bad News From Canada On NetTV And Media Levies · · Score: 1

There's not much you can do about it since the governemnt in Canada is so corrupt, the party in power can basically do whatever they want, and the party currently in power has been in power for so long they have become calky and making not so good moves. Apparently the levies collected from blank media hasn't been paid back to any artists yet. For more info on the levies, and who to e-mail about it see http://www.ccfda.ca/ But e-mailing them isn't going to do much (how many people like GST, and I don't see that ever being repealed). P.S. I do live in Canada

  7. No! on Should You Trust Website Customer Reviews? · · Score: 1

I always used to read consumer reviews @ http://futureshop.ca but then I bought a TV Tuner card from them which didn't work at all with Windows 98 (I put it on Linux and it worked without a hitch), so then I sent a review in saying it didn't work with Windows 98, but it did with Linux, and it never got posted. I did this about three months ago. Go there and you'll notice *all* the reviews are positive, they may have 1 or 2 negative points, but in the end it's always good.
