    Yes, Vista did have honest to goodness suckage, but most of the complaints centered around the fact that they actually fixed their security

    Removing all of the wheels makes a car much more secure. It just makes for a shitty car.

    There is always the bandwidth of a station wagon full of ... USB hard drives. Also, VPNs over the Internet are more and more common. Which is the point. While I may not work for weeks so I can get the latest episode of Chuck, I will to make a circumvention tool to allow free and open access again. By "Widening the net" they add to the ranks of people against them.

Give a real timeline of when the "High Priority" projects will be done, and drop everything else, and tell management that there are no new projects until May 2013. When they crap, you can start the discussion of "Wants vs Needs" and if they really need everything on the list.

    This is hilarious, because you have already signed something(in the US) saying you wont do any of the above to hurt the company when you became employed.

    Exactly, and they are asking you to do something that may cause hurt to the company. This is just saying that if hurt occurs because of something the company asked me to do, I am not responsible.

    Also put a lot of stuff in writing. Like if they are forcing you to join with your personal account, get in writing that it is your account, and will still be yours when you leave. That you have friends that may post to your wall that you are not expected to control. That you participate in activities outside of work that may or may not fit with the company image, and you will not be asked to curtail those activities. This may scare them off a bit...

    Actually, this can lead to more security for wistleblowers, if they have some knowledge. Since this is now so easy, it is hard for any government to justify having a large questioned documents section. (They are expensive after all) So all you have to do, is change your dots, print the super secret stuff, and then change them back. Then if they compare pages, and get non-matching numbers, they check no further.

    Oh? Did you buy that printer with a credit card? Video surveilence at time of purchase could be useful if not....

    But to address your comment, that only works if the store records the serial number with the purchase, and not just the model. And assumes you do not buy a used printer.
