  1. future for sony's brand on Nintendo's Playstation Settlement Bombshell (or not...updated) · · Score: 0, Troll

obviouslly playstation is a huge huge brand for sony and its synanymous with sucess so it'll be interesting to see if Sony actually moves away from such a trusted brandname. I mean, if you were one of the biggest entertainment companies in the world and had one of the most valuable gaming idenities would you change it if it only cost you 10% of your revnue? Just think of the sheer cost of what itd take to rebrand a system... (ie Xbox's XXX Millions)

  2. salon's like an endangered species on Salon, Nearly No Money and Ultramercials · · Score: 1

one of the great things of the internet glory years was the amount of great information that was acessible for the first time. salon's articles are generally pretty good and are fairly interesting and itd be sad to see a resource like that die out. its sad they havn't found a sucessful profit model but itd be nice to see someone buy them out and run them as a profit making vehicle....

  3. get excited, this is great on Gamecube Finally Plays GBA Games · · Score: 2, Insightful

i don't see why more people are excited about this, asuming your a nintendo nut you probablly already won a gamecube and possiblly a GBA. this device is awesome cause i can play castlevania, old schoool mario and even the great metal gear on my wega in pretty damn good comfort. i dont think the device was ever ment for the mass audience because not everyone gets tingly seeing castlevania post 2000. the little things like this really are things you really dont see in the industry all the time

  4. osx is slow on Is Mac OS X Slow? · · Score: 1

OS X feels slow occasionally and it has nothing to do with the graphical whiz bang extras that apple added. if your working with 6 or 7 windows, its a hassel in OS X switching from your IM list to email to browser and so on. it just feels sluggish when i can alt tab my way across win2k and everything feels instant. i love OS X but OS X is still an amature in rendering webpages as quicklly as win2k's IE6 or XP.

  5. great scifi on Stargate SG-1 Gets A Seventh Season · · Score: 1

i thought the movie sucked but the plot had interesting ideas. like sliders with indy. anyone else know of good scifi like this?

    anyone know about witchblade?

  6. rosen on Hilary Rosen Defeated at Oxford Union · · Score: 1

don't you think that rosen actually believed she could win by going to oxford? ithink she truly believes that she'll be able to win the greater fight, what is troubeling is she won't be stopped until someone stops her completelly. how do you do that though???

  7. future rooms on The Most Dangerous Server Rooms · · Score: 1, Funny

kinda makes me want to start redesigning my company's server room to get into the register.

this might be one of the cruelest ways to enable job insuarance...

  8. blatant IP whores on San Diego Company Owns E-Commerce · · Score: 0, Flamebait

I could side with Amazon when they patented one-click because that might be attributed to a certain order of code, but this is such blatant intelectual property exploitation that its ridiculous. Its sad that the patent office is giving these sorts of patents away and its sad the congress isn't setting specific laws limiting the grants of intellectual property patents. the guys at youmaybenext.com are doing a noble effort but there should be an extensive effort to fight tech related patents like this. i couldn't find any across google but does anyone know of any?

  9. thesims and online warez on MMORPG Economies Explored in Depth · · Score: 1

will wright seems to know what he's doing and i bet he'll find a way for people to buy online warez in the real world. the economics make sense, sony cracking down is BS. south korea has real gangs selling online warez to finance their clubs and bars. the potential of tapping this industry is huge. it'll probablly become its own little economy within the game's economy for the sims.
