The game is not the problem its people. You have to be responsible and realize that the game is not the real world. My wife and myself both play WOW we group up and play together, my kids play too we WOW as a family. I have spent more with quality time lately with my wife than I used to, sometimes I spend to much time with my C compiler! You still have get up and be an adult and realize that the real world still exists you have to go to work, clean your house and do all the other day to day things. Don't blame the game or the developer. Didn't your momma teach you some self control?
I like the little 8051 chips from Silicon Labs http://www.silabs.com./ A good variety of diffrent 8051 chips with various perpherials. Dev kits for only $100 comes with an eval Keil C compiler but you can download SDCC http://sdcc.sourceforge.net/ that will integrate with the IDE.
Devices such as TV,DVD and most home entertainment device's embedded microprocessor systems have specialy tailored software for there hardware. I develop embedded computer systems for radar systems, most of our systems boot up and are ready to go in milliseconds of their supply comming online, keep in mind we know everything about the hardware we run on no probing or detecting. I personally don't know how much time it takes for Windows or Linux to detect what kind of hardware it is running on but I don't think that should take that long. A fresh Windows XP install doesn't take that long to boot, but a soon as you install a few apps be prepaired for a much longer boot time. When booting Linux I think most of the wait time is for daemons to startup.
This must be the same guy who got rid of my RS-232 ports! And the most of USB to serial converters just suck! I don't see what the point is in getting rid of the CAPS LOCK key. Its been there a long time an no matter what this guy thinks I am sure there are a few people out there using the CAPS LOCK key for something other than pissing off people in IM.
I guess in my case if I need more functionality than the default firmware can give me in this little old $50 router I would just build myself a Linux or FreeBSD box does everything I could ever need. But I do understand some senarios which it would be nice to do it with just the small little router box. My point was that there seem to be alot of people complaining about the device like it is junk without running Linux on it forget just the need for expanded features.
Has anyone else besides not had a problem with the VxWorks version? I have been running my V5 now for about 6 months with absolutely no trouble. I have installed two firmware updates from Linksys but that was because they were avalible not that anything was wrong with my rotuer. I used to run a FreeBSD box for my router but I switched to the Linksys just to stop myself from doing things like this. I was spending so much time tweaking my router just cause I could. Now my Linksys just sits there and works. It frees up my time to tinker with my development machines both Linux and Windows without my net going up and down. I use the port forwarding to control access from outside my network to the machines and services that I would have normaly all run on my BSD box. Really I just don't see the point execpt for its something to play with.
Nope I traded my 17 inch LCD for two old Digital 21 inch CRTs with my boss so I could have dual screen. Sure they are big and heavy but I think until they get the LCD problems worked out I will stick with the good old CRT.
I didn't mean to imply that Linux was not a geeks os. I should have clarified that statement by say that when someone wants to tackle configuration with FreeBSD for example the config utility is vi. Most Linux admins I meet are quick to reach for the GUI I just don't belive in that. I myself use both Linux and FreeBSD typicaly I use Linux for workstation type use and FreeBSD for serving. But thats just me.
I have to disagree that BSD itself is dead. Maybe what was once BSDI yes but not BSD in general. Personally I prefer using FreeBSD for serving over Linux. Its stable, consistant and the ports collection rocks! Sure its not for everyone and it maybe dead in the mainstream but its heart still beats for those geeks who want a geeks os.
Crap like this is why I hate Apple to damn arts fartsie. Who gives a shit about asthtics. Just give me horsepower in plain old black case on my plain fold out table.
I myself have been using a computer every day sence the age of 14 I am now 26 and the only thing I can manage to write in cursive is my name and even that has been reduced to a my first and last initials. But for me its not a bad thing I always hated writing anyway.
Do what I did sit them down in front of your non MICRO$OFT OS. Its funny watching the dude try to install there MS software on a FreeBSD box. Guy gave up and I only paid half the install fee!
The best technique is to move the cursor to where you want to go and then release the underside trigger button. The cursor freezes on screen, and you can then click or whatever.
I think this might make using 3 button emulation under X hard.
For The Horde!
