The game is not the problem its people. You have to be responsible and realize that the game is not the real world. My wife and myself both play WOW we group up and play together, my kids play too we WOW as a family. I have spent more with quality time lately with my wife than I used to, sometimes I spend to much time with my C compiler! You still have get up and be an adult and realize that the real world still exists you have to go to work, clean your house and do all the other day to day things. Don't blame the game or the developer. Didn't your momma teach you some self control?

Devices such as TV,DVD and most home entertainment device's embedded microprocessor systems have specialy tailored software for there hardware. I develop embedded computer systems for radar systems, most of our systems boot up and are ready to go in milliseconds of their supply comming online, keep in mind we know everything about the hardware we run on no probing or detecting. I personally don't know how much time it takes for Windows or Linux to detect what kind of hardware it is running on but I don't think that should take that long. A fresh Windows XP install doesn't take that long to boot, but a soon as you install a few apps be prepaired for a much longer boot time. When booting Linux I think most of the wait time is for daemons to startup.

I guess in my case if I need more functionality than the default firmware can give me in this little old $50 router I would just build myself a Linux or FreeBSD box does everything I could ever need. But I do understand some senarios which it would be nice to do it with just the small little router box. My point was that there seem to be alot of people complaining about the device like it is junk without running Linux on it forget just the need for expanded features.

Has anyone else besides not had a problem with the VxWorks version? I have been running my V5 now for about 6 months with absolutely no trouble. I have installed two firmware updates from Linksys but that was because they were avalible not that anything was wrong with my rotuer. I used to run a FreeBSD box for my router but I switched to the Linksys just to stop myself from doing things like this. I was spending so much time tweaking my router just cause I could. Now my Linksys just sits there and works. It frees up my time to tinker with my development machines both Linux and Windows without my net going up and down. I use the port forwarding to control access from outside my network to the machines and services that I would have normaly all run on my BSD box. Really I just don't see the point execpt for its something to play with.
