  1. Lamebait on Strike on Iraq · · Score: 1

From the CNN story: "Navy commander tells sailors attack will be 'unlike anything anyone has ever seen before'".

Does that mean they're sending in Janet Reno? I mean, she really got the job done at Waco.

  2. Yo Mama Jokes on Defining "Planet" · · Score: 1

You know, this could bring about some astronomy-related "Yo Mama" jokes.

Yo mama's diameter is so large that gravity pulls her into a spherical shape, making her the thirteenth planet! On second thought, scratch that.

  3. Virus on Program Hides Secret Messages in Executables · · Score: 1, Insightful

So when can we expect our first virus using this code?

  4. Squids on How Will Animals Look 250 Million Years From Now? · · Score: 1

Is it just me, or is this show implying that squids are going to take over the earth? It seems like half the animals featured are descendents of squids. And 200 million years from now giant squids will walk the earth while the most intelligent animal is a tree-dwelling squid? Come on! When they say they consulted "experts on particular groups of organisms" do they mean they went down to the local sushi joint and asked the guy behind the counter what he thought?

  5. Re:Err, Maybe It Should Be Terminator 2.5 on Terminator 3: Rise Of The Machines · · Score: 1

Actually, James Cameron has nothing to do with this one. It's being directed by Jonathan Mostow, the guy who brought us U-571.

  6. Re:Disciples 2 Review on Linux Port of Disciples 2 Announced · · Score: 1

    *cough* Plant. *cough cough*

  7. Comparing Content on Declaring The Death of Metatags · · Score: 1

I believe that some search engines look to see if keywords in your META tags are repeated in the content, and increase your page's ranking if they are. I'm sure it's not as advanced as engine's like Google's methods, but not everyone uses Google for their searches and META tags only add a few bytes to the code....

  8. Re:ADvertising on Bertelsmann Looking At Pulling Plug On Napster · · Score: 1

Actually, when I'm browsing through CDs at my local music store, I'll often pick up a CD because it's released by a certain record label. Smaller labels, such as Saddle Creek, Jade Tree, or Shadow, tend to carry bands who share a similar style of music. If I like a couple of bands that have released albums through the label, I'll often buy a new CD from a band I've never heard of just because they're on the same label. I've discovered some great bands that way.
