Woah. I think you better seal your windows and lock your doors man, you just spilled the beans on one of the governments top secret conspiracy plans:D
But I mean, don't you think the gov. has enough hardware now (Carnivore) to halt the distribution of MP3's or other file formats across the internet? On the other hand though....I personally think that the government does such a horrible job of technology management to begin with that they could never play an efficient role in stopping any kind of actions from taking place across the internet.
Most companies try to avoid trouble like this and wouldn't go find a patent and base a business around it without securing the patent first.
Then again, when your leading (the first major) company based on one of the hottest business ideas in history (internet based auctions).....what wouldn't you do to get the ball rolling (faster) ?
Am I the only person who thinks that this would be nothing but a target for hackers all around the world? I mean, come on, the department I work in has attacks on its web server on a daily basis, like clock work, and it's just Agricultural Economics at a University! I'm sure something like this would be a 'golden cow' hack for any well versed h4x0r...how much effort would you put into hacking if it would let you have that much control over someone's.....house???? Making something like this available to the average consumer at this point in internet security, would outweigh the convenience aspect of it with danger....at least I think so, what about you guys?
