This isn't an a shameless plug or anything, I have no affiliation with these guys other than yes, I did buy a cheapie server from them and it works great! I use it for game servers like L4D & 2142 & all the old classics (red faction, quake series, etc.) The main thing to watch for in my opinion is the Hard Drive you plan on using with it. These are IDE only & the $99 one only accepts 1/4" single-platter drives or maybe a laptop drive. but it's perfect for me:) I popped a 500GB IDE drive in the dual 3.06 Xeon / 2GB Ram one.
Tiny 2003-Vista Edition runs great on older machines using very little resources - people are playing around with the asus EEE version of WinXP as well and the Beast edition of TinyXP. Otherwise, I prefer an older debian-based version of Mepis. DSL (Damn Small Linux) might be an option as well. I'd say that's probably fast enough to run straight WinXP though.
That's simply not true. Muscle mass burns calories all day long while aerobics only burns while you perform that particular exercise. Metabolic rate is increased around 11hrs post-resistance training & only 1 hr aerobically. You really need to do both to be fit though, as well as the 3rd piece of the puzzle - flexibility.
Turn the display around so it closes with the LCD outwards, and have them cycle art via the network or it's own drive - put a picture frame over them and you'll have a dynamic art display! You could do family photos, downloaded art, etc.
It's probably heat - I suggest downloading speedfan (a free utility) and look at the temps while SETI is running, if the CPU is getting too hot - like over 65C - you probably need to either upgrade your HS/F or stop using SETI before you cause permanent damage. Other possibilities are a bad motherboard or power supply (or just about any other component) but you'd have to trouble-shoot to find out.
