If you're gonna criticize the US, criticize foreign policy specifically, because it's at the root of all this terrorism nonsense.
That is so true. Because US foreign policy has been what it has been, there is now the Homeland Security. From what I know. And problems with BigBrother mentality and so on.
...goes around whacking every beehive he sees for fun and profit.
Iraqi oil kind of profit? No fun I know, but profit? Russia among other countries first wanted evidence of WMD, the US didn't show any. Now, since it is much more profitable (By this I mean the UN sanctions of course) for the US, they don't feel like evidence is no longer needed... since there appears to be none.
Still think I'm full of shit when I say that the world is going to turn itself into a police state and that the end result will be a stable form of government capable of lasting thousands of years?
The world is going to turn into Police state? You call the US the world these days? Who else is playing the role of world police? Name one country. And, name another country besides the US who has more foreign threats than domestic threats? And why?
No wonder security stuff and privacy is such a big issue.... and even bigger mess in your homeland
You in the US have been and always will be circling the same issues about security and rights of freedom etc. You need to feel hugely secure about yourselves, and still cling to your freedom of speech and freedom to bear arms. Would you feel lot safer with modified laws about all of those? Neither one cannot be compromised. Make an omelette without violating the rights of the egg.
Really need to have it on your wrist while moving stuff either way??? And, that p0rn comment reminded me about ppl who still can type with only one hand. Think about that. AND thinkgeek version of that comes with extension cord. Think about that too. Think Geek.
Your choice for subject to that reply is also appropriate. Who went in and started that war in the first place? Of course you need to take full advantage of being in there, no question about it.
BUT, what if Saddam just would have stepped down, and let the so called democracy pour in, would US companies still have first say about re-building the country? Is that bias based solely on war-efforts? In this case, war efforts seem to make US tech bit more better by effect than european.
And the moneywise situation? US is not going to benefit hugely from Iraqi oil when it is effectively controlling the whole place, whose money is that?
Bit off the topic, but nice to change opinions about it anyhow.
Actually, you're right. Truly intelligent systems would not be as cool or as funny as lawnmover in a dress. Take Data for example, truly intelligent system, and did you ever see him happy or at least truly happy?
That said, truly intelligent systems need truly intelligent audience to be appreciated as much as they deserve. Hence, SF article gets obviously more attention in proportionally larger crowd than AI systems would.
The win or lose situation has nothing to do with US self-bias. If CDMA had won, it would of course prove that fact, but losing does not prove that US is not maybe the most self-biased country on this ball of people.
Not making money, moving money to itself. On security, ever thought about why US needs that much security? Which does not belong: Microsoft, secure software, unix/linux
I didn't even bother to read that long COMMENT on something. I admit that I haven't read every single posting/subject on/. but still, looks like making a point that way is inefficient at best. How is the way things are displayed significant on how they affect stuff? By this I mean your dialog, is the dialog a way to make your point more effective or do you just like to make a point that way?
Not that I have been around making points that long anyway to be any judge of making points.;)

Can't help myself. If some Europeans feel that way about you "Americans", why wouldn't some of your own people? :D

Well, I find it merely amusing. That's all.
Good point. No USB-watch for me then. My Seiko Kinetic needs to be on much more than that.

But that's just a guess.

I have no intention of seeing the movie only once. Whether or not I understand it for the first time around. :D
Given that, the suprising thing is that CD sales are only down 8%. Car sales for 2002, for example, were about 13% below car sales in 2001
Far more suprising would be if car dealers would also blame P2P for they profit losses...
Glad I didn't pay that much attention to the contents of that dialog. Not BEFORE I see the film.

WHAT America's 'innovation and security'???
You mean Micro$oft?
Anybody think of possibility of NOT having access to internet anymore? How would you get the booklet and other stuff of the SoD CD then?
