  1. This way, there is always time for another probe.. on Mars Crater Theory Tries To Explain Missing Beagle · · Score: 2, Interesting

It takes that much time to lose one of those Mars probes, I mean from earth to mars it still does take more than overnight trip to get to, that people will have time to build new ones before they even know they lost the latest probe...

is as funny and entertaining as The Sims with a shotgun. You can do what you like... so what? Where is the reward? In the empty clip/magazine?

Tried SP-Postal2... didn't find anything funny in it, well, the one part where I did urinate on one eye-witness until she puked. That was fun for one time, and then the fun was out the window...

  3. Kinda waiting for a fire in my house... on Company Offers Disaster-Proof Storage For Records · · Score: 1

Every now and then, when sitting in front of my comp for hours and hours, I secretly wish my house would burn up in flames, I could get rid of this hour-eater and I would not be so concerned about upgrading every year and so on.

For me, that kind of mountain would only guarantee I would never get "real free time" :)

And what kind of hardware is the author talking about, if he really thinks that less files on hard drive is going to make noticeable difference on how fast word processor or web browser works. I mean, the marginals seem to be bit too thin for my thinking.

If I "cleanup" my system, I would be disappointed if the Word would go any faster. Since it would mean that my machine is dependent on how much free space it got. And with my RAID 0+1, no need for manual backups...

You mean burning the oil wells would have been stealing? I would call burning them pillaging, not stealing. You can steal the oil after you save them, not after you have burned them. Not burning them is not no-stealing by itself.

No proof of any foul play there of course. Not yet. But I would be seriously suprised if the US would not get more oil from iraq compared to other countries dealing with Iraq's oil. Proportionally of course, since the sanctions are lifted.

And about talking trash or non-trash about the US, say, in an european forum, what would be the point in that? Hence, people who happens to disagree with eg. all-american patriotism, comes here to have a difference of an opinion. This just happens to be excellent place to hear opinions about that and counter-opinions about the same thing.

There is objectivity for you. I have nothing agains the US citizens as a default. And that rant was not even about the US citizens. So don't take it personally. And neither should anyone else.

No, seriously, until the method of storing the "fuel" more efficiently and so on, I don't think that electric cars will be any good. Maybe in a huge disclosed areas where you can deposit load-post frequently enough :D

  20. I don't use CD's, offtopic maybe on How Do You Store Your CDs? · · Score: 1

I know all too well also the problem of countless CD-R's. That's why I don't have that problem. I keep stuff on my hardrives. With RAID0+1, I am not that worried about data loss. And these days, the price ain't that bad either.

I hate the fact that no matter how genious catalogue system you have, you can not do a search on it, well you can if the catalogue is updated often and so on, but after the search, you still need to find the damn disc. All the files on hard-drive, just click on the search result, voilá.

And then the is the clutter of course. I do have maybe a few dozen CD's on my desk, but those are either obsolete or not important anymore. They are art decor :D
