    Change of population over time is the first derivative, called population growth. Acceleration of population is second derivative. Your "growth is accelerating" is third derivative, sometimes called "jerk." Just like you.

    Just use extrapolation / induction. Parachutes are not helpful for 10 foot jumps Parachutes are not helpful for 20 foot jumps. Therefor, parachutes are not helpful for jumps greater than 20 feet.

    In some cases the rough spots that shred the floss will get worn off with repeated flossing. YMMV.

    Interesting citation. I find them difficult to use, and a short brush lifespan adds some expense.

    Generally, you want a model with a low pulse rate, like waterpik provides. A high pulse rate isn't much different from continuous flow; your mouth fills with water much more quickly without cleaning more effectively.

    Look at the reports more carefully. Hillary Clinton clearly violated the law intentionally multiple times, but the investigating agencies concluded (not their words) that the Clinton omerta would make prosecution unsuccessful.

    The syntax for passing pointers to functions in C can be confusing, particularly when dealing with things like pointer to pointer to array of strings. **str[][] just isn't fun.

    C will fail to help you make a chip.

    I've used and modified C programs that took SPICE output to optimize IC circuit speed, and interfaced with part of Verilog to calculate gate loading and speed. C was essential to our process of chipmaking.

    Most mid level managers are busy doing their jobs, doing routine planning and handling unending crises. Corporate value is beyond their horizon. They aren't scheming and backstabbing and whatever else your ignorant dreams see them doing. There are the rare Machiavellians and show boaters, but they don't represent the bulk of mid level management.

    I don't know if it's true, but I've read that GaAs loses its advantage below the 0.35 micron node, which is close to 20 years ago.

    The speed advantage available for some massively parallel problems still has something to gain from more transistors on a chip. For example, video processing for games.

    DRAM requires one transistor per cell, which is one reason why it draws much more power per GB than a NAND flash drive

    Isn't it fun when somebody technically ignorant tries to explain technology? DRAM draws lots of power because the charge that defines a bit leaks away, and to avoid loss of data refresh cycles are required, which means power draw. Flash leakage is more than 10 orders of magnitude lower, which means that practically speaking a flash device does not need to be refreshed.
