Maybe that's why Sony used the ad campain "Welcome chang3" to hype the PS3. This controller is a big change. It looks like those cheezy aftermarket controllers that tries to get you to buy it solely based on its K-r4d k3wl l00kz d00d!!!
What annoys me is that all the next gen consoles we have seen so far have rounded surfaces. I like to put my games and controller on top of my console when I am done with them. With the XBOX 360 my stuff will settle in the center and with the PS3 it will slide right off! I guess I need a shelf.
I usually don't argue with AC's, but you stuck a nerve.
How is that interesting? It's the report by the US supposed to show that the US didn't do anything wrong. How is that a surprise?
Ah yes... like EVERY incident report shows that the US did nothing wrong. Everything is a conspiracy, especially since you were not there to personally witness the events. There have been plenty of investigations showing fault with our troops. This one did not show fault so it must be a conspiracy. Give me a break.
If that really had been the case, it would have been unfortunate. However, the Italian site is explicitly denying that this is what happened.
Well you seem to believe that the US has an ulterior motive to say nothing happened, why won't you consider Italy's motives? Do you blindly take their word over ours? The Italians have been looking for an excuse to pull their troops from Iraq for quite some time. Perhaps that has something to do with the claims on their site.
...the facts in this mess are far from clear, so stop pretending they were.
No the facts are not clear, but what is more likely? The soldiers knowingly slaughtered innocent people just trying to cross a checkpoint or the car ignored/didn't see warnings and got fired upon. I have been in the military. Soldiers DO NOT put up with people that do not follow orders, especially when there is a potential to put their lives in danger. If you make a move, they WILL take you down and ask questions later. This may seem harsh to you, but try getting shot at everyday and see how you react in that circumstance.
I read the comment about Firefox not displaying the Yahoo logo and I couldn't believe it.
I had the same reaction, but when I went to yahoo.com with Firefox and didn't see the logo either. This was strange because I didn't use the ad blocking features of Firefox. I then viewed yahoo.com using IE. I got the same result; no yahoo logo.
It turns out it was my firewall software, which has a built in ad blocker, that was filtering the logo. I turned off the ad filtering and the yahoo graphic shows up just fine in Firefox.
You think the author of the article would of tested the user's claim before printing it as a legitimate problem. I guess I expect too much of journalists these days.
DDR is a great way to lose weight! I lost about 50 lbs so far.
I found the pad makes a HUGE difference. I play Stepmania with a Cobalt Flux on a hardwood floor. That is pretty much the ultimate in responsiveness. I tried playing with a friends soft pad on carpet... it was absolutely horrible.
A better pad = higher scores = less frustration = more fun = more playing = losing more pounds!!!
My advice. Buy a Red Octane Ignition pad at EB Games and buy the insurance on the pad. If you are not on a hardwood floor, buy a piece of plywood to put under your pad to prevent it from bending. If you play every day, the pad will wear out in less than a year (my first RO lasted about 7 months). Once it wears out, the insurance lets you take it back and get a replacement.
A couple times a week my coworkers and I get together at lunch to play these games. Icehouse is an abstract gaming system where you can play many different games. Our favorite Icehouse games include Pikemen, Martian Chess, and RAMbots.
The hardest part about playing Mahjong (the real Mahjong, not Mahjong solitare)is finding a place that sells the pieces. It is fun and addictive, but you need 4 people to play.
1) women are, in general, better at multi-tasking. This would make them ideal for tasks such as project management.
I absolutely agree with this. Most of the best QA, BA, and PM folks I have worked with were women. On the other hand, I have yet to run across a woman that can right clean, easy to follow, and easy to maintain code.
The moral of the story is, there are differences in the abilities between men and women with respect to IT. Make sure that if you're encouraging a woman to go into IT, you are encouraging them to go into the right job in IT; not just into an IT job where there is a gender gap.
MCI's largest cost is line cost (the cost of leasing lines from other carriers) and Verizon needs a data network. After the merger, MCI does not have to pay line costs to Verizon anymore and Verizon gets a data network. It's a win-win for both companies.
Verizon has a wireless and local. MCI has long distance and business data (T1, OC3's, DSL, POPs).
MCI has local service now (The Neighborhood) that is implemented by leasing the local lines from the local carriers (like Verizon and SBC). The line costs are becoming very expensive (partially due to expiring regulation that limits the wholesale prices of these lines). It was already predicted that companies like MCI that lease local lines to provide a "choice" in local service will be forced to abandon it due to rising costs.
This merger does not affect Verizon's local markets (MCI has either none or very few). What it does do is allow Verizon to package plans that include local, long distance, and wireless to consumers. This merger also allows Verizon's small business and corporate customers to package MCI's data services like Internet access, managed WAN/LAN, and VPNs with their phone services.
You ever hear the phrase "Name, Rank, and Serial Number"?
In the US Military, the serial number part is your SSN. This always pissed me off becausse when I was in the service, you couldn't write a check anywhere in a military town without writing your SSN on it.
It seems that once your in the military, your SSN becomes public knowledge.
I've been working on my CS degree for over 3 years now (almost done!) with about about 7 years in the industry. I work 40+ hours a week and take 2-3 classes a semester at night. I'm also a homeowner and have a wife. In other words... I have plenty of distractions.
The secret is: A very rigid schedule and the discipline to keep it. This is my weekly schedule for this semester:
Monday: Work then homework
Tuesday: Work then Arch class
Wednesday: Work then Client/Server class
Thursday: Work then Java class
Friday: Work then stress relief (movies, club, etc.)
Saturday: Sleep in then homework
Sunday: Wake up normal time and do yardwork/household chores then homework
It was hell my first few semesters, but I got used to it. Now I wonder what I'm going to do with all my free time when I'm done with school!

Maybe he will use some of that Lemelson-MIT award money to put up a Slashdot proof website!!!

How about Icehouse or Mahjong?

There is another reason.
