Alright. I through the gantlet and the US voting public for their constant lack of voter turn out. This lack of turn out gives corporate lobby groups substantial influence over elected officials. For the most part the US voting public has no one to blame but themselves when US elected officials pass some sort of self-serving, corporate boot licking law. I submit that all eligible voters who do not vote should shut their pie holes and go home.
Can you and your family go to the library together? It seems like a win win to me. You get to borrow books, encourage your kids to read and spend time with them.
The old programmer didn't document the code properly or the new programmer was to lazy, inexperienced or incompetent to take the time to understand the old programmer's work. Whatever the reason the language used, perl or otherwise, is not to blame.

Transmission losses is another target. A lot of electricity is lost on the grid due to the efficiency of conductors. The invention and procution a super-conducting transmission system would allow us to recover that lost energy.
The smart ones use cyphers, encryption, cell organization and mouth to ear communication. One only has to watch a movie or read a book to learn that. Snooping phone calls and email will not help.
I think SElinux is still a mixed bag when it comes to distribution support. My attempts at using SElinux with Debian have been disappointing. Red Hat AS4's SElinux works out of the box but, it is not enabled by default.
When looking at all the servers in datacenters I often wonder how many servers are not actually needed. I do not mean redundant or due to be decommissioned servers. I mean there are to many dedicated servers. It is a common theme to have every service using a dedicated server. Is there any reason a server can not do more that just DNS? A properly built, configured and maintained server should be able to fill multiple roles thereby reducing space, power and cooling requirements.
Choose is the correct word here. I choose what profanity I use. I choose what profanity I find offensive and ignore it. Others should not be able to decide for me what is profane.
However the article did say that the filters was upon request. However, I think people need to be educated about filtering. They need to know that it is far from perfect and no substitute for good judgment.
When I learned TeX last year I wondered why HTML did not borrow more from TeX. While not perfect for a browser, TeX has a lot of good tags that could have been used from the outset of HTML.

Being jaded I see only the chance for broken legislation. I see new laws making it illegal to possess or use legitimate security tools.
I saw this issue as well. A least part of this slow down was caused by RT not house cleaning its sessions. This resulted in RT querying a current session with all sessions that were ever created. I'm not sure if that is still a problem.
Wouldn't building better water, road and electricity infrastructures be a better way to help the world? Most of the articles I read about OLPC mention Africa which is a place that often lacks the basic systems I just mentioned.
I find CUPS in general to be unreliable. Permission problems, driver changes or incompatibilities and lost jobs always crop up from time to time. Printing is probably the one service on Linux boxes that consistently gives me problems.
This just in. Buying beer will not attract hot girls. Should we sue brewers? How about cosmetic companies? The makers of weight loss pills? Movie studios for making me pay $20 to see crap?
Someone promote this guy to VP of Marketing right now! :)
They should rename it to 'Sizzle'.

Seriously? Follow the money in US politics. This will not happen.

I think domain owners deserve some privacy both from shady marketers and from Internet crack-pots.

Most of our ESX hosts (about a dozen in total) are AMD chips.

Make me a cell phone that is reliable and almost as cheap as POTS. No contracts, no roaming and no other hidden charges.
I don't agree with that. Men and women are different. They think differently and are likely to have different interests.
Why should it matter who is getting comp-sci degrees. Shouldn't we care that the candidates are good and not what colour, race or sex they are?
