  1. Time to put up or shut up... on iPod Shuffle, Mac Mini, iLife '05, iWork · · Score: 1

Okay slashdot folks, all of you who've said for years that Apple boxes are too expensive... "if they made one for $499, I'd buy one"... time to put your wallet where you mouth has been. And you can't bitch because of the one button mouse, since it doesn't come with one. You can just hook up your current N-button USB mouse and be happy. -=- Seedman

I don't know about that. I got my last girlfriend at McDonald's. (In my defense, she was a manager.) Let me warn you guys, they're just like everything else you get at McDonald's. McDates seem really tasty at the time, but they're really bad for you in the long run. I can vouch for that.

I can confirm that iTunes does in fact fix the 6000+ track bug with sharing. Also, it appears that only the machine hosting the library has to be updated to fix the bug.

In my own testing, I found that connecting to a iTunes 4.6 shared song library of 13000+ tracks over my 100mb LAN from a machine running iTunes 4.5 or 4.6 takes about 10 seconds. Connecting to the same shared library over standard (11mb) Airport takes about 13 seconds.

@#$%^&*! Wish I could afford to be out of the office for two weeks at a time, but I just can't do it. Although I love MacHack, I don't really have a choice on this one.

Maybe I'll get lucky and MacHack will move to later in the year next year.

Gotta be a Brit, I'm afraid. Just wouldn't be the same otherwise.

I'd suggest Robert Llewellyn ("Kryten" on Red Dwarf, also the early, and IMO the best, host of Junkyard Wars (aka Scrapheap))

Someone also suggested Chris Barrie ("Rimmer" on Red Dwarf, "Hilary" in Tomb Raider) who'd probably also be a good candidate.

I also see a part for Rowan Atkinson as the captain of the Golgafrinchum "B" ark.

Stephen Fry would make a great maitre d' for The Restaurant at the End Of The Universe.
