OK. Most rich people aren't rich because they're stupid. They wouldn't pay you in money, they'd pay you in commodities that would increase your chances of survival. They'd pay you in weapons, and ammo and durable food stocks and fuel and housing.

Heck, come to think of it, the rich would probably just buy those things for themselves since the odds of survival after the strike with a fortress on the Canadian Sheild is probably better than taking off in a spaceship.

At the current moment, my cpu temperature is 36.8 degrees C. My laptop is docked with the lid closed and I've been using my computer for 90 minutes solid. The fan in my system is NOT running.

Tell me again how your AMD runs so much cooler and quieter. I always enjoy a good laugh.

The only reason libs call fascism right wing is because it generally includes a healthy dose of racism, which is preached as a "conservative" sin, while Communism promotes atheism, which is preached as enlightenment.

Oh, please. You can say you liked Jackson's LOTR, but to say that he tried to follow the spirit of the book is an absolute joke. The spirit of the books is the corrupting power of evil and how it is responded to. Jackson turned it into some sort of Gladiator sword-fest with sword-wielding she-elves, creepy elf-queens and character assassinations left and right.

The book had the majesty of a Ghandi or Chariots of Fire, and Jackson turned it into Raiders of the Lost Ark.

No, to get something memorable, you write to the timeless elements of human nature, both the good and bad. Tolkien is a classic because he retells what he called the "Great Myth." Stories of sacrifice, loss, redemption, the triumph of good over evil. These stories will be memorable.

Pushing the envelope is just another way of saying offend traditional sensibilities with pop-culture trash or faddish ideologies. Pushing the envelope is about getting a shock reaction, not creating something memorable.

It's not Communist paranoia when the Communists really are thicker than rats in the U.S. government and the stated Soviet goal is the Communist overthrow of the U.S. government.

A little history lesson. Taiwan is where Chiang Kai Shek fled when the Commmunist thugs under Mao Tse Tsung took power in a civil war.

China refuses to recognize Taiwan as an independent nation because it is a free nation founded by Chinese nationalists fleeing Communist oppression.

The history of Eastern Europe should tell you the Communist response to conquered nations that get "uppity."

The only reason China doesn't invade Taiwan tomorrow is because they aren't sure the U.S. wouldn't get involved.

China is a brutal Communist dictatorship. They don't believe in human rights or liberty or anything else except the maintenance of Communist dictatorial power.
