What you describe happens in a lot of electronic and discount stores around the holidays. Basically, they just want to check that what you have in the cart is what you paid for. It's easy for someone to buy a $10 item, walk back in, pick up a DVD player and walk back out with receipt in hand.
Sure, it's a lack of trust and you're treated like a criminal before the fact.
But, the fact is that many stores lose lots of merchandise this time of year. I don't like it, but I don't falt them one bit.
Although I agree that many company web sites are poorly designed or are hard to navigate, we have to remember that a web site is not a company's primary means of communication. Anyone remember the phone?
Instead of spending two hours on a web site getting frustrated, why not just call the manufacturer to get the information. 15 minutes and your done.

Better yet, drop NFS and just use Samba. Nothing to install on the Windows box you can still mount between the Linux boxes.

Instead of yelling at the clueless to use the software to view landscape pages how about actually showing how to do it?
