  1. Yeah what about linux devices on Spotlight On Windows-Powered Gadgets And Gizmos · · Score: 0, Flamebait

Yeah like the zaurus, ipaqs that run linux instead of pocket pc. An obscure devices that Linus discovered like Electronic picture frames. It's a little scary to put windows powered devices on display like this.. very brave decision.. Almost every geek has the clip with Bill Gates showing off Windows 98 and have it crash right???? Its not like Microsoft gets too much of the spot light already :P

  2. Scary. on Bell Labs Demos Cell Phone Location Software · · Score: 5, Interesting

It would be interesting if there were some software switch that could be triggered by the provider if they were forced to do so by eg FBI or some other form of law enforcment. If you have committed a crime flick of a swtich your position is lit up like a christmas tree. I would prefer telling people where I am rather than having the phone tell them my exact location. Some of the newer technology is interesting and good, But some will bring in a new era of Big Brother. Just my thought..

You have to be able to bring an error to some ones attention... If no one is willing to pickout and notify of errors you get something like Windows.. So as an IT pro, you must be willing to do that for the sake of the product. Thats just my thought..

I would like to see them try. I'll wait eagerly for the next version of Mozilla for a fix. Full motion adds, great -end sarcasm- us poor dialup users still waiting for a site to come up while ad's are downloading. Hey why am I complaining I don't go to MSN etc. I get furious with these people spammers/advertisers etc that try to get around these measures.. I have popup blocking cause I don't want the ad's I personaly will refuse to buy something off someone that advertises in such a way. -- An Angry Ball of Fuzz :)

It is true... We have got so much more communication of course.. We can talk VoIP/IRC IM email to our hearts content. If anything computers / internet has made it cheaper to communicate with people we would not normaly communicate with. Only for the cost of ISP charges.. which usualy works out cheaper than dialing up some one on your home phone. Is this story a suprize. Not for those of us that are used to it.. Its the uneducated general public that have been misinformed that believe that computers cause you to be anti-social.. Well thats my 2 cents.. I am sure there will be people that dissagree

Good theory but.... No Compact flash for example, as can be seen on the below site. Compact flash specification 2 has a maximum transfer rate for 16MB/s http://www.compactflash.org/ I am sure my 5400 hdd could out run that.. So I guess the question is.. what planet are YOU from ???

Maybe I am just taking this way to logicaly.
If you pay for a 512/128 connection are you not allowed to use that to its full extent.

I am currently still on dialup, would my isp with in there rights to tell me to download at 3kb/s instead of 5.

I think they just don't want to cut into there profit margins by being cheap and not buying a larger pipe.

    Cheers.
