As an old 74B, (when I was in it was information systems operation/programmer) class 07-94, we got decent training, a little hands on, on basic pc builds (with 286/386 remember 486/p1 were high speed at the time) some basic programming (in basic and dbase4 (ok not a real language like C but shut up)) office 95 training, a few windows 95/nt3.51 install setups, and about a two weeks hands on in SCO Unix, just enough to make us dangerous, and yes we killed the server many times, kill -9 is dangerous in the hands of the stupid. However, for what it was a brief entry level training it was not bad. Once I got to Permanente party, It was a lot better, I got tones of hands on with dedicated systems (old ugly green TACS boxes :() and with OTS (Off The Shelf) systems, mostly hd and cdrom replacements. In addition, many hands on in SCO UNIX, working with the SARSS systems, the upgrade to NT4 svr, and workstations was just coming on line as I was going away. However, I got a lot out of it. Could it have been better, yes, but since 74's leave the army so fast, it would not make sense to train us for 3 years, and makes us real super IT Gurus on everything, to only server for 2 or 3 years left. The only thing I hated about Gordon, was running around that damn Clay/sand Field 3 or 4 times a day :( but other then that it was alright for an AIT place, better then some from what I hear.

What are you talking about, in both places I have worked as an IT person (both help desk and on site support) we would push out updates from the server, when they logged on to the network in the am. It is not hard to setup a system the pushes the updates to patch the new (or re-found) holes in windows setups. It does not require a person going on site to every pc and running the windows update util. Also every where I have worked, we had a COE (common operation environment) and if you were not on a testing team, and you did not have the COE desktop/OS/software or had any extra software installed, they would just re-image your workstation to bring it back to the COE standard. And it was nice :D

If you want to give up your freedoms, then go live in a country where you don't have them; don't try to dictate what we should have to give up.

-- Benjamin Franklin, Historical Review of Pennsylvania, 1759

You should note that the 'right' of privacy is guarantied in the US Constitution. Most of the replies to this seem to think that this is a right, under the US Constitution, you only have a few rights (4) Four. In addition, they are, the right to Life, Liberty, the pursuit of Happiness, and finally the right to Vote. This is it, in none of the Amendments to the US Constitution, i.e. the bill of rights, do they guaranty our right to privacy; unreasonable search, yes, but this does not give privacy.

The people that I want out of my COUNTRY; are as follows.

Illegal aliens (not all aliens just the illegal)

    Aliens with expired visa

People that will not scarifies minor freedoms to win

That is it, not a lot, just those that are not willing to give up something that is unimportant for some thing that is.

Freedom is not free; it has to be paid for with the blood of the innocents. (Yes I know this is a quote, but I cannot find from whom right now)

To reply to the attempted to call me a hypocrite, I am willing; unlike others, it now shows, to give up freedoms, which are not rights, to protect the whole. This is simple; you have to get sick with chemo, to get out the cancer. This I will do. It hurts to have a tooth worked on, but it is better in the end, this I will do. It hurt when I was shot, but I was able to kill/put down/take out the shooters with my SAW/M249 to save the Squad as we ran from cover to cover in Bosnia, this I will do. This I will defend.

I may not agree with what you say, but I will fight to my death for your right to say it. Ben Franklin (I think)

I do not understand why any American, (Big A), would even think about apposing the PATRIOT Act. What this does is re-empower the Government to place the criminals and terrorists on notice. You should understand why any American would even think about not giving the power to the people that can and will save lives.

Keep in mind that the ACLU right now is fighting the NY state police, when they helped the INS and picket up people that had committed a felony, of letting their work/school visas expired.

The ideas that are in the PATRIOT Act are good ideas. Having roving taps, not on every one, but on criminal, and suspects, just makes good cents. Being able to put any one who comes to this country and breaks the law, under surveillance is a good move.

As a retired solider I will fight for my rights, but I will once again give up something I love to protect people. The first time it was my rights as an individual when I joined the Army. Now it is a right to privacy to protect the lives of my fellow fellow citizens. This I will do this I will defend.

If you are not willing to give up a few freedoms, which you will never notice when they are gone, to save a life. GET THE F*CK OUT OF MY COUNTRY. This is worth fighting for.

I may not agree with you, but I will fight to my death, for you right to say it. James Madison, The Federalist Papers

And all of them sell the software in some form, or support for their versions. But I do believe that software is like sex.........it is better when it is free :)!

I have had problems with every AMD XP mother board I have had to work on, be it a Sis or a VIA chipset. I have never with one exception had any problems with Intel boards being bad. I use good "Fuel" grade black silicone with copper core tubing. To make it look nice I put an automotive fake sliver wire/hose wrap on it, it reflects the cold cat lights nicely. :)

Also I have never seen a water cooling system fail with proper maintenance. I made my one water jacket for the CPU's, out of lexan and silicon and a two part epoxy. Bought the cool lance system for the geforce 2 video card, and three of the HD coolers.

Also you should note that water will move on its own through thermodynamics, and will cool better with out power then an air cooled system, where your fans fail. My system has 2 pumps, one pushes up and one pulls down after going through every thing. It has never failed me yet.
