    Too high.

    Even for shows I watch now I would wait for the DVD before paying those prices.

    Make it free, then go up to whatever the advertisers pay per set of eyeballs watching. Each week double the cost until you hit that maximum.

    What you mean is it excludes the old folks who sit at home all day.

    Ratings is not the only thing they measure, at some points it better to have lower ratings, make less total revenue, but more profit by having a cheaper show.

    They have X hours to fill to make the most profit possible. If Show Z gets 100% of viewers but only breaks since it costs a fortune to make they will cancel it. If can get 50% of their traget audience to watch Dancing with Idols which costs nothing to make they will replace Show Z with that ASAP.

    Before you do that, let me buy your shows without cable. For maybe half the cost of the dvd, unless it includes one at the end of the season. 24 hour delay is about the most I could see tolerating for that kind of expense. More delay, would decrease the value of the program to me.

    Go get a cheap bluetooth OBD2 adaptor, if it costs more than $15 shipped, it it too much. Then buy Torque for Android for $5.

    No, it does everything that unit does.
    It will give you all the data you car puts out over OBD2. This varies from model to model of car.

    Paired with the $5 torque I do not see anything this garmin offers that I am missing. I have position, all the fancy gauges, everything.

    For the first one, get the cheapest one you can find. Inside they are all the same, a cheap chinese ELM327 clone and a bluetooth transmitter.

    Seriously a $10 ELM327 can do this job just fine. Even if you get the pay for version of Torque you just saved yourself $75.

    An old smartphone is what I was considering using. I have a couple D1s laying around collecting dust.

    Those have GPS onboard as well. Plus a display that can be used to get that data out in a nice way to the user.

    If you have a smartphone you can skip the raspberry pi. Torque does 99% of this already.

    Sure, but the odds of breakage are lower and you don't lose support in that case anyway.

    Tell RH support you are using a non-supported FS and watch them hang up on you.

    Neat to see they are coming along though. Not too bad to get 16TiB for $3500. Since you need 8 of them to get a RAID10 that size.

    Or you could buy a console that does not charge you a monthly fee. Such mythical devices actually exist!

    They even let you watch netflix without paying the OEM of the console.

    Assuming they live 3 years though, you now tied, and at 4 years paying up front pays off.

    Again I doubt the early units will last that long, based on what we saw with early 360s.

    Based on the life expectancy of early 360s I would not bet on the 720s living that long out of the gate.

    I want to buy the device outright and pay as little for service as possible. So far the PS no price for network service seems OK.
