The entrenched tax preparer industry would never allow that. They need complicated regulations to exist. If we simply made all income tax X% above Y dollars and Z% above W dollars, then made business taxes X% on Y profit they would be out of jobs. There are likely billions of dollars in the tax preparation, avoidance and evasion industries. From the guy at the HR block to the lawyers helping the 1% setup trusts in the Caymans there are simply too many folks in those jobs to allow simplifying the tax code.

That is the standard in the USA as well. It is not however enforced at the federal level, and not all states even require it. The simple fact is in most place in the USA not doing that will impact your ability to retain workers.

They would fire the person, then to make sure this worker could not claim unemployment or sue for wrongful termination they would have them deported by calling INS and reporting them. The government is often in on the scam of exploiting foreign workers.

Can they start this now? I would think mile markers could have some sort of cheap transmitter that tells my GPS/Car/phone the speed limit. I hate driving long distances and no being sure what the speed limit is because of over grown trees or purposely poorly placed signs.
My favorite prof has a chair endowed for him, so he fails as many as he likes, gets benched from teaching for the rest of the year. Then next year does it all again. A rare gig I guess.

Regular mail is likely safe, but not very trustworthy. International mail is not safe and very likely to be opened.

Most states do require some breaks per 8 hours. They do not require they be paid though.
