A Volt is $39k before tax rebate and $31k after. The Volt is a terrible deal. Even using the lower price and your numbers would mean it would take a decade to pay back.
Home's are not always more expensive to heat than an apartment. I moved from a 800sqft apartment to a 1400sqft home, my bill is the same. My commute is also cut in half.
The apartment had a double glass door out to a balcony in the main living area. This was a huge heat loss my house does not have.
In your examples some of the money was spent on fuel, not all of it. The backhoe could well have been made using mostly electricity, which came from nuclear power, for example.
I doubt all money is spent on fuel. Nor even on things that are bad for the environment. Hell, people spend a lot of time and money on the opposite. I am going to be greening some more property that a previous owner had covered in concrete and rocks. That is going to cost me time and money.
And they are willing to pay those prices. Military equipment is often just overpriced, because it can be. Go ask some folks in the Military they will tell you.
I would be happy with 25 miles if the things were affordable. I can get a Cruze(the car the Volt is built from) for $17k, the extra $20k the Volt costs would buy me a lot of gasoline.
Name one Marxist mainstream media outlet. I will wait. We have several center right ones, but no marxist news outlets are anything near mainstream in the USA. The Militant is not mainstream and I am not sure it even qualifies as Marxist, socialist yes but they do not limit themselves only to Marxism for their writers.
Nuclear is actually about as socialist as you can get, the loans for them are always government backed, they are highly controlled by the government and even insured by it. There is no more socialist form of power in the USA than nuclear.
You left out another major factor, the Chinese don't have to worry about environmetal issues. Want to dump all the dirty water you made when you etched those panels? China says find your nearest river and have at.
Oh noes, I made a joke on slashdot. Think of the children.
The simple fact is for my usage I never pay more than $10. I don't have time for many games anyway. So no need to buy the latest when I am still 5 years behind, much less one.
Think about markets with high natural barriers like telcos. You can't cheaply make a new one and if the monopoly wants they can undercut you in only your own markets. They fund that by charging more elsewhere. Not all profits, just the ones in markets you compete in.
SS3 is a new steam game for linux. I do not have any windows computers. So far the PS3 is not hacked on current hardware and firmware. I like easier to break DRM, deal with it. I would prefer none.
The Acer C7 Chromebook does. RAM and HD can be changed.
The Nexus 7 can load whatever OS you like, same thing with a the Chromebook. You can download the files and flash them all you like or use USB OTG if you must have external storage.
No it is $20k premium.

The implementation does.
I don't see any power plant owners going Galt and making their own power plant anywhere in any nation without these same things.
Pot calls Kettle black, hear all about it and other useless but true facts.

That is just the same as them doing it.
I mean why are the ratings not sold as a separate product paid for by the buyer?
Note how no one watches them.
The liberal market does not want to be pandered to they want facts. The Fox news viewer prefers to live in an echo chamber.

Yeah, sometimes it even gets up to 30C. Might only be for a day or two at a time, but how do they tolerate that?

Crtl-D or Crtl-U until you change a simple setting.
The Chrubuntu page can tell you what the command is.
No that is just the only OS yet ported. Go port fedora if you want yourself. Don't complain that others have not done your work for you.
Who said anything about that?
Let me make this clear even for you
Steam
1. Good Sales
2. Cracked Exes available
Console
1. Only very old games cheap, not many sales
2. No Cracked Exes easily available
Is that clear enough or should I draw you some pictures?
So instead you parrot propaganda from Fox News?
Really useful. Go look at some charts and figures, Fannie and Freddie did not bring this about, most of these loans were too big.
Someone who sells ratings should not also be buying and selling these products. Of course there is a huge perverse incentive here.
No, I am suggesting that for me and many steam users that is why they don't care. Because we do buy cheap games.
If you think that is silly feel free. I do a great many silly things, like play video games.
Oh noes, I made a joke on slashdot. Think of the children.

Only long enough to bankrupt the little guy.

You must be a lot of fun at parties.

I do not buy them if they are not on sale. I got Serious Sam 3, my most recent purchase, for $5.99 I think.
I am comparing a simple feature, easy to crack or not. I really do not care what game companies think of this feature.
Not replaceable?
For a slashdotter? You open the damn thing and solder in a new one. Kids these days.

You are either Trolling or extremely ignorant.
What do you mean outdated wireless?
My house only has WPA2 and I am not changing that.
Does it have wired? All my other net connected devices that are not moved around are hooked up that way.
