    The entire thing is a scam and they are quite upfront with it.

    I the charitable 1st worlder give free money to some bank in the 3rd world who supposedly gives a loan to a needy person.

    This means I make no profit and a bank gets to charge interest to another person. Why the hell would I ever do that?

    If it is my capital I want at least half the interest or just give the guy the money, either way at least some banker is not getting rich for free off my money.

    Trusting that the person you are buying from or selling to is not a cop or is actually going to provide what they claim seems insane. If you are a buying you have to give a place to send the drugs and a seller has to get those drugs to that place. Either option seems fraught with chances to get caught.

    This violates every idea about never getting caught; everyone you don't know is a cop, all phones are tapped, etc.

    So then make sure they will hit targets.
    You can save money by only making every Nth have a warhead instead of a brick. So long as the mass is the same the interceptor system cannot tell them apart.

    That fission seems to be powering my computer just fine. What part of it is not working out?

    If you want to say there have been problems, that is true, but for the most part it works out. Coal mining kills far more. Not to even mention the toxic pools the coal plants have to store their waste. That stuff stays toxic forever by the way.

    Someone is connecting these calls right?
    Someone is paying a bill to make them, seems like you could figure that out.

    The fact that POTS lets you fake a number is a big problem with it. The fact that the endpoints have no knowledge is another.

    I think the best case would be to get rid of POTS.

    The fact that the end point does not know who is actually calling is a major flaw.

    Better yet, agree to the sale.
    Then once they get you one the phone with the person who takes your credit card info, hang up. This will result in a cost to the call center and the agent who called you will get reprimanded for the failed conversion.

    I don't think it is shady. Just a waste of money that could be profit.

    I think it is just like everything else branded in games. Smart publishers should be charging the gun makers for the advertising. "You want the bushmaster name in our game you pay us, otherwise we will just go talk to all your competitors".
