    I believe he means that certain actions are considered "acts of war" meaning we just handed Iran a reason to say we are already at war with them.

    Normally destruction of a governments property is considered an act of war. This would meet the first requirement in the UN charter for a legal war. Iran can now attack the USA stating that it is defending itself against further attacks. In reality they will not, they are just being used to make the Israelis and a subset of the American population happy.

    That is a sure recipe to get screwed. They will lie, they will supply a box that hits the numbers only under certain conditions and not yours.

    And here we have one of the things I hate about vmware. Why can I not just ssh into the damn thing and do a vmotion?

    KVM might be less performant but it is sure a hell of a lot easier to deal with if the shit hits the fan.

    This is a half truth. They cannot charge extra for credit card charges, but they can offer discounts for cash. Which is what I suggested.

    The dealer I went to would not do the former, and with no discount over using a check I opted not to bother with the latter.

    To me it seems like you would want to test it doing some sort of calculation you can check later.

    At this point it seems like the terms would have to be less than .25% to make it worth it.

    I meant even MS should have to go get their software signed by a neutral party. I read the article, it did not mention Red Hat even suggesting this, nor did it seem as though they even considered legal action to make that happen.

    I agree they will, I only mentioned it was possible.

    Blurays suck for gaming, the seek times are way too high. If we are going to stick with them, then we should be installing the whole game onto the console and using the disk only for DRM.

    Even free would be too much. MS should not be in the position of controlling what I can boot on my hardware. You really think they will not in Win9 or Win10 demand that PCs only boot with the Secure boot on?

    Then it is easy enough to refuse to certify any non-MS OS.

    You really think MS will do this out of the goodness of their hearts?

    Here in the real world we should let the SSL CAs run this. Since they already are running a similar program.

    RH should have at least tried some lawsuits first.

    The problem is my apartment is much smaller than a house would likely be. So my rent is probably cheaper than the taxes on a house would be.

    If so I rather keep the money and live in an apartment. As I would have to continue to pay insurance, taxes and repair, I don't see owning a house as a really big deal. Unlike other things I own it would continue to cost me money each month/year. I would not buy a house that took 18 years to buy. I might take a 5 year loan but that would probably be the limit.

    SD cards already go up to 64GB, so that does not seem like a problem. SDXC spec goes up to 2TB, so these seems pretty doable.

    I was not aware credit card companies forced the merchants into this with threats of violence. The merchant can always offer me 1% to not use the card, and I won't.

    No one is extorting anyone, these are all agreements free people are entering into.

    You can't. I just tried to buy a car that way. The credit card they refused and the cash was way too much paperwork.

    Then sounds like they should do what we did.
    Two people with the closest shifts share a car. It does mean one person will get there early and be picked up late, but still better than walking.
