It is not a tautology, go learn about the OSes used in each of these devices and compare them features wise. Even RIM admitted their OS sucks, that is why they bought QNX.
As to my preference that would be that it runs some form of linux so I can have busybox and all the other stuff I like. Android comes close.
I bet if we built them some electric plants and showed them an AC unit they would fight for us. AC, McDonalds and flat screen TVs that is what we need these people lusting after.
Because these are not mobile phones, they are mobile computers that just happen to also offer phone service. Mine is used for data far more than voice.
I am American and have lived outside the USA. We need to get over our sex hangups. Public displays of violence, like the ads for major blockbusters are surely worse for children than seeing images of procreation.
I suggest instead all video games be sold only to those 18 or older. That way we don't need yet another regulatory body deciding what games can be sold to minors.
Then the protection of the works could not last longer than the producer. Right now you are only incentivized to produce one or maybe two works then live off the income for the rest of your life.
Thats completely wrong, there are AP courses in every public school in the US for kids that are more advanced.
No, there are not. The school district I attended still does not offer them. I did not even take a math my Senior year having already finished Calculus the year before and that was is last math class they offer to this day in said school district. In 8th grade in the district before the one I graduated from I was doing 12 grade English and would have moved on to taking classes at a community college for highschool English credit.
The school district I did graduate from I slept through 4 years of English classes since I had done virtually the same material years before. The graduating class in that district is less than 100 and the amount of freshmen that make it to graduation in 4 years is maybe 50%. Rural American schools suck.
I don't sell any HTPCs, so good luck. It will never happen by the way. The googletv or appletv or something that is not a PC, lack is a locked down appliance is what will take off.

I never suggested such a thing, merely that the latency is not so low that is is not hard to believe it is a mobile connection.
Besides that a nice 10Gb ISCSI connection to 30 15k SAS drives is much faster than most cheap SATA drives.
I have mine locked to the bottom bar. Easy to find on on home screen. I also only keep frequently used apps on any of my homescreens. No clutter.

I have 10Gbps gear here at work, and even at the house 1Gbps. My FIOS connection is 25/25 and if I was willing to pay would go up to 150/150.

Check the latency and you will have no trouble believing you are using a mobile connection. Too bad that with the new tiers LTE is worthless.
End user applications should not handle updates, the OS does that.
$$$$, that is why. If you only need 50bps and you can get it on unlicensed spectrum, why pay for licensed spectrum?
